Reviewing the project of conserving, embellishing and promoting the value of the system of historical – cultural monuments and landscapes

(LSO) – On November 19, the Standing Committee of the Provincial-level Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held a workshop on social criticism on the draft project “Conserving, embellishing and promoting the value of the system of historical – cultural monuments and landscapes in Lang Son province to 2030, a vision to 2035”. The workshop was attended by representatives of some related departments, committees, agencies in the province.

The project was drafted by Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with the common goal to prevent the degradation of the system of historical, cultural monuments and landscapes, offer a long-term comprehensive protection strategy, preserve and promote the values ​​accumulated through historical periods. Thereby, it helps contribute to the education and propaganda of the revolutionary history, local economic and tourism development.

The object of the project includes all monuments: historical – cultural monuments, landscapes that have been inventoried in the province, ranked monuments and monuments have not been ranked yet. The scope of the study is mainly in Lang Son province and extends to related surrounding areas outside the province.

The workshop received seven comments, of which six comments were made at the workshop and one comment was sent in writing. These comments focused on many contents such as correctness, science and feasibility; the project’s impacts on economy, politics, culture and society, national defense and security, foreign affairs; the harmonious interests of the State, the People and organizations. In addition, delegates also commented on many other contents related to the practical situation when the project is implemented.

The representative of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism explained and received comments to complete the project in the coming time.

It is known that as of September 2020, the whole province has about 335 monument areas and 421 monuments of many types. In which, the number of monument areas and ranked monuments is 128, the number of monuments that have not been ranked and included in the inventory list is 207.
