Consider the draft project to preserve, embellish and promote the value of the system of historical – cultural relics and landscapes in the province

(LSO) – On January 5, Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee chaired a meeting to consider the draft project of “The preservation, embellishment and promotion of the system of historical – cultural relics landscapes in Lang Son province period 2021-2030”.

At the meeting, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism  and the consulting unit of the Institute of Monuments Conservation – Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism briefly presented the draft project of “The preservation, embellishment and promotion of the system of historical – cultural relics landscapes in Lang Son province period 2021-2030”.

Accordingly, the draft project includes 5 main parts which are an overview of Lang Son province, survey and assessment results of the system of relics’ current status in the province; current status of the management, conservation and promotion of the relic value in the area; the orientation, proposal of content and solutions to embellish historical-cultural relics and landscapes in Lang Son province; investment structure, funding and implementation organization.

The goal of the project is to prevent degradation of the system of historical – cultural relics and landscapes in Lang Son province, eliminating the risk of damage, loss and deformation of relics. At the same time, a comprehensive strategy to protect, preserve and promote the values ​​accumulated through historical periods in the relics in relation to contemporary local cultural life, society and economy, contributing to the education and propagation of revolutionary history and the development of the local tourism economy.

The meeting received many comments from participants focusing on some main contents such as the legal basis of the project that needs updating new documents; specific objectives of the project needing to add some specific data;  new information on administrative units in the province and locations of merged administrative units to be updated; supplement a number of specific solutions in the protection, restoration, embellishment of relics, solutions for propaganda and international cooperation …

Concluding at the meeting, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and consulting unit to receive the comments of delegates. On that basis, they should revise the structure of the project content briefly and clearly; review, supplement and update new documents, data of relics and landscapes in the province into the project. The goal of the project should be more specific and phased in each stage. In which, each goal must go hand in hand with each task, thereby proposing logical and scientific solutions.

The project must clearly assign tasks to each department and sector according to its functions and duties. Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism focuses on studying, editing and completing the draft project to submit to the Provincial People’s Committee before January 15, 2021.
