Many interesting activities to celebrate the Vietnam Ethnic Group Culture Day at Ky Lua Walking Street

– On the evening of April 17, at Ky Lua Walking Street, the People’s Committee of Lang Son city organized activities to celebrate the Vietnam Ethnic Group Culture Day April 19 and the summary and awarding prizes to the winners of the contest “Beautiful pictures for tourism ” of Lang Son city.

At the stage opposite Ta Phu Temple, artists, actors and students from clubs and some schools in Lang Son city performed many unique performances such as the history of Fairy Temple Festival; show of Lang Son ethnic minorities’ costumes and singing, chau van dance, then, sli, luon singing, attracting the crowd.

On this occasion, the leaders of the City People’s Committee announced and awarded the contest “Beautiful pictures for tourism” of Lang Son city to excellent individuals. Accordingly, after one year (from March 2020 to March 31, 2021), the Organizing Committee received 157 photos of 34 participating authors from inside and outside the province. In which, the jury selected 8 pictures for awarding, including 2 prizes in terms of topics, 3 encouraging prizes, 2 third prizes and 1 second prize (no first prize).

In the program, the people and visitors have experienced some other activities in the walking street space including admiring more than 10 beautiful pictures of Lang Son city, participating in folk games and reading books at booth.

It is known that, in order to celebrate Vietnam’s Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21, 2014 – April 21, 2021), from April 16, 2021, at Ky Lua walking street, the City People’s Committee organized many attractive activities such as art book stalls, discount, display of good books, free reading service; role-play and story-telling performances; book-based postcard design with the theme “My hometown Vietnam” …

These meaningful activities have contributed to introducing the cultural beauty, people, typical tourism products in Lang Son city. At the same time, it honors the book’s value, affirms its position, role and importance in social life. Thereby, it promotes the reading movement and helps people, especially the young generation, have more pride and sense of responsibility for the conservation and promotion of cultural heritage values.
