The working team of Vietnam Bank for Social Policies continued to work in Lang Son

LSO-This morning (November 18th), the delegation of the Board of Directors (BOD) of Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) led by Mr. Nguyen Van Dao, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Veterans Association, Member of the Board of Directors of VBSP had a meeting with Lang Son’s Board of Directors of VBSP.

Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Head of the Board of Representatives of VBSP’s Board of Directors, on behalf of Lang Son VBSP welcomed and worked  with the delegation.

According to the report presented at the meeting, in 2019 and 10 months of 2020, the Board of Directors of VBSP of Lang Son province has carried out  quite well its responsibilities of directing the functional units to accelerate the disbursement of assigned credit targets.

It is estimated that up to October 31, 2020, the total debt of 15 credit programs was VND 3,073 billion, an increase of VND 184.7 billion in comparison with the beginning months of 2020, reaching 99.8% of the plan; the number of households with debt were 67,909 households; the total sales reached 831.8 billion, with 20,167 customers borrowing capital.

The loan capital of VBSP’s has created conditions for poor households and favourable policy beneficiaries to invest in production development, positively contributing to the local economic development, social security, and building a new rural-style countryside in the whole province.

At the meeting, members of the Board of Representatives of Lang Son’s VBSP province proposed to increase the loan amount for production and business programs in disadvantaged areas and extend the loan term for households achieving poverty alleviation status in a short time.

Speaking at the conclusion session of the meeting, the head of the delegation of the Board of Directors of VBSP suggested that in the coming time, the representative board of Lang Son VBSP would continue to implement the guidelines and policies of the Party and State, especially Directive No.40- CT/TW, dated November 22, 2014 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party’s leadership over social policy credit; strengthen inspection, supervision, and link policy credit activities with programs to build new rural style areas and reduce poverty sustainably. The social – political organizations which entrusted with VBSP should pay more attention to human training and developing , improving the efficiency of savings and loan groups; and dealing with overdue debts and inertia. He also emphasized that it is important for Lang Son’s VBSP  including provincial branches and district transaction offices to follow the instruction documents in order to advise the People’s Committees of the province and districts in the implementation of preferential credit … The delegation highly appreciated the proposals of the province and  would submit them to the Board of Directors of VBSP for further consideration.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee emphasized that in recent years the preferential credits assigned for the province had left a positive impact on the poverty reduction, new rural construction in the province. The Board of Representatives of the Board of Directors of Lang Son’s VBSP had promoted their roles and responsibilities in improving the efficiency of loan work contributing to the effective implementation of the policy credit program. The Board of Representatives of the Board of Directors of Lang Son’s VBSP appreciated feedback from the delegation of VBSP and would work to detail the working in the coming time.
