Chairman of provincial People’s Committee inspects new-style rural area building in Loc Binh district

(LSO) – A delegation of the People’s Committee of Lang Son province led by Chairman Pham Ngoc Thuong on September 4 inspected the new-style rural area building in Tu Doan commune, Loc Binh district.

As of early September, Tu Doan had completed 11 out of the 19 criteria set for new-style rural areas. The locality expects to win the new-style rural area status this year as it is stepping up efforts to meet the remaining criteria regarding transport, school, culture, health care and environment.

Tu Doan has asked for investment in district roads, prompting contractors to promptly build new-style rural area facilities, and more cement for the commune to complete some criteria.

Four out of the 27 communes in Loc Binh have fulfilled all the 19 criteria, with each commune reaching 8.66 criteria on average.

Loc Binh has also focused on building model new-style residential areas and advanced new-style rural communes in the localities that have been recognised as new-style rural areas.

The construction of new-style rural establishments has been carried out as scheduled, and attention paid to production development, resulting in the birth of many production models with high economic values.

During the field trip, leaders of provincial departments and agencies responded to proposals raised by villages and Tu Doan commune, and put forth specific solutions to help the commune reach the status as scheduled.

In his concluding remarks, Thuong lauded outcomes recorded by Loc Binh district and Tu Doan commune in particular in new-style rural area building, and urged them to work harder in the time ahead.

Those that have been recognized as new-style rural areas should consolidate and improve the criteria, he said, adding that specific plans are needed to complete the remaining criteria, focusing on the re-organisation of production models, environmental protection, cultural institutions, and security and order.

The official also asked the locality to instruct contractors in the allocation of equipment and personnel, and construction methods in order to ensure the progress and quality of infrastructure projects.

Tu Doan must strive to become a new-style rural area in 2019, and target advanced new-style rural area criteria and improve material and spiritual life of locals for a long run, he said.

Thuong urged departments and agencies to help the district and commune remove difficulties and accomplish the set criteria.

Earlier, the delegation visited some production models and infrastructure projects in Tu Doan.
