Press conference to announce socio-economic, rural and agricultural statistics of Lang Son province in 2021

– On the afternoon of December 28, the Statistics Office of Lang Son province held a press conference to announce the socio-economic statistics of Lang Son province in 2021 and the results of the mid-term rural and agricultural survey in 2020 of Lang Son province.

Attending the press conference were representatives of a number of provincial departments and sectors and central and local press agencies.

At the press conference, the representative of the Provincial Statistical Office informed about the socio-economic situation in the province in 2021.

Accordingly, although the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic have negatively affected all socio-economic fields, in 2021 the province’s economic growth is still estimated to increase by 6.67% over the same period compared to last year, ranks 3rd out of 14 provinces in the Northern Midlands and Mountains, 15th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

In which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increases by 5.86%, contributing 1.26 percentage points to the general increase; industry and construction increases by 9.31%, contributed 2.26 percentage points; the service sector increases by 5.66%, contributing 2.79 percentage points. The scale of GRDP (gross regional domestic product) at current prices is estimated at more than 37,200 billion VND. Total budget revenue is estimated at over 10,700 billion VND, up over 48% compared to 2020.

In the social fields, the people’s life is basically stable, there are no major fluctuations, the prices of some items are stabilized and the supply of policy goods and essential goods is sufficient. Education, health care, and social security receive great attention for implementation in a timely manner.

Regarding the results of the mid-term rural and agricultural survey for the period 2016-2020, as of July 1, 2020, there are 181 communes with 1,636 villages, down 26 communes and 495 villages (compared to July 2016) in the rural area of the province; the poverty rate in 2020 accounts for 7.88%, down nearly 14.5% compared to 2016.

The fields of education and training as well as rural cultural life are guaranteed, the information and communication system is gradually modernized. The system of clean water and sanitation has been improved. The grassroots political system is renewed and the quality of operations is improved.
