State budget collection surges 36.3 percent in nine months

(LSO) – Total State budget collection in Lang Son province hit over 5 trillion VND (215.4 million USD) in the first nine months of the year, up 36.3 percent from the same time last year and accounting for 92.2 percent of the estimate, according to the provincial steering committee for budget collection.

The steering committee  said at a meeting on October 11 chaired by Vice Chairman of the provincial People Committee Nguyen Cong Truong that domestic collection exceeded 2.33 trillion VND, or 88.2 percent of the estimate and increasing 29 percent against the same period in 2018.

Meanwhile, import-export activities contributed over 2.66 trillion VND to the State budget, rising 42.3 percent year on year.

At the meeting, representatives from the provincial steering board’s member agencies and the steering boards at city and district level assessed budget collection results in the nine-month period, and discussed measures to improve the work in the remaining three months of the year.

Truong, for his part, spoke highly of the state budget collection work in the past time, while asking the Tax Department to make concerted efforts in tax collection, bill management and collection of tax arrears.

The department was urged to support enterprises and household businesses in filing tax, join hands with the natural resources and environment department to better manage tax collection in mineral exploitation, and carry out projects and solutions related to tax and fee collection.

The customs department was asked to check types of commodities in the province, and remove bottlenecks in a timely manner to improve budget collection efficiency.

In addition, the steering committee for budget collection at all levels should organize meetings to assess sources of tax and seek measures to fight tax evasion and debt, with a view to complete their entrusted mission for the whole year, he added.
