Lang Son leaders inspect operation of Chi Ma border gate

(LSO) – A delegation of the Lang Son provincial People’s Committee led by Vice Chairman Nguyen Cong Truong on March 25 examined efforts in COVID-19 prevention and combat as well as export-import at Chi Ma border gate in Loc Binh district.

At the working trip, representatives of local sectors and businesses reviewed advantages and difficulties during the realisation of COVID-19 prevention and combat endeavours in tandem with the inspection and control of trading activities via the border gate.

Sixteen checkpoints have been set up in key locations along the borders to stop illegal entry and exit. Health officials have arranged thermometers and other necessary medical equipment to curb the spread of the disease while relevant agencies have also carried out preventive measures to ensure exports and imports through the gate.

Customs clearance at the Chi Ma border gate resumed from February 26. From the start of the year to March 22, export-import revenues through the border gate hit 36.7 million USD, marking a year-on-year surge of 24.4 percent.

Concluding the inspection, Truong spoke highly of extensive efforts in COVID-19 prevention and control at the border gate which create favourable conditions for trading activities in the area.

He asked relevant agencies to bolster supervision and health examination for drivers and traders going through the border and give top priority to COVID-19 prevention, while facilitating export and import activities.

Previously, the delegation examined efforts in COVID-19 prevention, infrastructure planning and operation at a number of warehouses at the Chi Ma border gate.
