Deploying the task of making Lang Son provincial planning for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050

(LSO) – On July 30, 2020, the Provincial People’s Committee held a conference to deploy the task of making Lang Son provincial planning for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050.

 Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee chaired the conference. Attending the conference were Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Dinh Thien, Member of the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Group; the representatives of Planning Department, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, the leaders of departments, agencies and Chairmen of District and City People’s Committees.

At the conference, the delegates listened to the lead-in report on the implementation and the task of making Lang Son provincial planning for the 2021-2030 period, vision to 2050 and the drafted implementation plan presented by Department of Planning and Investment.

Accordingly, implementing the Planning Law and the Government’s Resolution No.11/NQ-CP dated February 5, 2018 on the implementation of the Planning Law, Lang Son Provincial People’s Committee determined that the planning of the province is a priority and leading task to concretize national and regional strategies and planning, and the province’s development orientation to 2030 and  vision to 2050.

The Provincial People’s Committee established a Steering Committee for the province’s planning and a working group of the Steering Committee. At the same time, the Provincial People’s Committee directed departments, agencies and District and City People’s Committees to review plannings and abolished 11 plannings under the authority of the Provincial People’s Committee.

Up to now, the province has completed the task of planning and the Prime Minister approved the task of Lang Son provincial planning for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050 in Decision No.748/QĐ-TTg dated June 3, 2020.

Discussing at the conference, the participants highly agreed with the plan drafted by Department of Planning and Investment.

Speaking at the conference, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested that right after the conference, departments, agencies and District and City People’s Committees have to immediately start the task of making planning. Directors of departments, agencies and Chairmen of District and City People’s Committees must directly direct the implementation of planning. On data aggregation, it is unified to gather data until the end of 2020 to make the province planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. Departments, agencies and District and City People’s Committees need to well coordinate in the process of making the province planning.

Department of Planning and Investment as the standing agency of the Provincial Steering Committee for planning and the investor must well coordinate and urgently complete procedures to select the consultant in the earliest time. The Department should supplement the task of consulting Ministry of Defense and  Ministry of Public Security for the planning of Lang Son province in accordance with law provisions.
