On the morning of March 30, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Quoc Doan held talks with Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China Liu Ning.

Overview of the talks

On behalf of the delegation of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Secretary of the Regional Party Committee Liu Ning expressed his pleasure to visit and work in Lang Son and his gratitude for the warm welcome of the leaders of Lang Son province. He also affirmed the increasingly close relationship between the province and region.

He proposed to continue promoting friendly exchange activities; maintaining and restoring trade activities at border gates; to strengthen economic and trading cooperation between the two sides, to completely restore entry and exit activities at border gates; to continue exchange and cooperation…

At the meeting, the Secretary of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee welcomed the Secretary of the Regional Party Committee and the delegation of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to visit and work in Lang Son province; he expressed his gratitude for the close and regular attention, support and cooperation of the Secretary of the Regional Party Committee in the past time. He highly appreciated and acknowledged the proposing contents of the Secretary of the Regional Party Committee, affirming the close high-level relationship between the two Parties and States as well as between Lang Son and Guangxi which was increasingly strengthened and nurtured.

Within the talks, the Secretary of the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee briefed on the socio-economic development of Lang Son province, he emphasized: “In 2022, Lang Son province has well performed 18/18 main groups of socio-economic indicators. The province’s economy recovered its growth momentum, the growth rate of gross domestic product in the province was estimated at 7.22%; the total value of cross-border trade turnover between Lang Son and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region reached 3,100 million USD, that in the first quarter of 2023 was estimated at 640 million USD, up 32% over the same period in 2022. The cultural- social aspect has witnessed many progressive changes, people’s lives continue to be improved. National defense and security, social order and safety have been ensured, Party and political system building have achieved good results.

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee suggested that the Secretary of the Regional Party Committee pay attention to directing and promoting a number of contents including continuing to consistently implement cooperation contents in accordance with the common spirit and awareness that have been achieved by leaders of two Parties and two States; more effectively maintaining and promoting existing cooperation mechanisms suitable to the actual situation and needs of localities. He also expected Guangxi to soon completed its internal procedures and to put the commodity transport specialized route at 1088/2-1089 landmark area into operation and the opening of Coc Nam – Nonghuai passing gate pair; to implement the “Model border gate”…; to continue cooperating, promoting and submiting to the competent authorities of the two sides for approval the policy of investment, exploitation and promotion of the role of the international railway border gate pair Dong Dang – Pingxiang; to seriously implement the three legal documents on the land border between Vietnam and China.

On this occasion, the Secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region would like to invite the Secretary of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee and the leaders of Lang Son province to attend the 20th China-ASEAN Expo in Guangxi.
