Conference discusses preparation for 14th session of Lang Son People’s Council

(LSO) – Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Lang Son provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Hoang Van Nghiem on October 21 chaired a joint conference to discuss preparations for the 14th session of the provincial People’s Council and review two-year implementation of coordination regulations between the standing board of the People’s Council, and the People’s Committee and the standing board of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Lang Son province.

The 14th session of the provincial People’s Council, scheduled for December 9-11, is expected to study and discuss 21 reports and 25 statements, as well as adopt 28 resolutions across various sectors.

Nghiem said 21 reports, 23 statements and 24 resolutions will be submitted at the upcoming meeting after hearing representatives’ analysis, evaluation and proposals on adjustments to several contents at the meeting.

Leaders of the provincial People’s Committee should direct competent agencies to make meticulous preparations for the meeting, particularly several statements and resolutions which are expected to be adopted, he said.

He also asked departments and sectors to work closely with the provincial People’s Council to ensure quality and unity of the documents, while the council’s boards must coordinate with the provincial People’s Committee and relevant sectors and departments to outline an early examination plan to complete documents for the meeting in a timely manner.

After that a report on two-year implementation of the coordination regulations was presented at the meeting.

After the two-year implementation of coordination regulations, the provincial People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee have actively upheld their role and responsibilities in accordance with law, contributing to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of each agency and the provincial political system at large.

These agencies have closely worked together to prepare and organise the provincial People’s Council meetings. Nine meetings have been successfully hosted so far.

Meetings with voters have focused on different topics which have been well received by voters while voters’ recommendations and petitions have been discussed and resolved.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Hoang Van Nghiem said the enforcement of the coordination regulations have shown a number of positive outcomes while the council’s monitoring work, Question and Answer (Q&A) sessions and meetings with voters have become more effective and straightforward without overlap among the bodies.

He suggested continuing well implementing the coordination regulations and further strengthening the collaboration among the provincial People’s Committee, People’s Committee, Fatherland Front Committee and deputy groups in developing programmes and plans and organising meetings between deputies of the People’s Council and voters.

They must also promote responsibility in solving recommendations and petitions from voters as well as monitoring and organising Q&A sessions to create trust among voters, he said./.
