Summarizing the project on improving the operation efficiency of the Farmers’ Support Fund

(LSO) – On the afternoon of July 28, the Provincial Farmers’ Union organized a conference to summarize the implementation of the project on innovating, improving the operation efficiency of the Farmers’ Support Fund in the 2012-2020 period and hold a dialogue between the leaders of the Provincial People’s Committee and members, farmers.

Attending the conference were Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, leaders of departments, committees, agencies, and delegates of district and city farmers’ unions.

In the 2012-2020 period, the Mobilization Committee for the Provincial Farmers’ Support Fund has mobilized collectives and individuals of unions  at all levels to support more than 14.4 billion VND.

Up to now, the total Provincial Farmers’ Support Fund is nearly 46 billion VND, an increase of more than 30 billion VND compared to before the implementation of the project.

Accordingly, the Farmers’ Support Funds at all levels have supported more than 4,900 farmer members’ households to develop production with 487 projects, including 145 cultivation projects and 342 animal husbandry projects.

From the Fund, it has created more jobs, increased income, improved the lives of more than 4,000 rural workers and so on.

At the conference, members and farmers proposed to the leader of the Provincial People’s Committee on matters such as supporting production development, linkage for promoting, introducing and consuming agricultural products; mechanisms and policies for agricultural development; solutions to improve the quality of projects supporting farmers in production development and startup; building geographical indications on agricultural products and so forth.

Farmer members also proposed to the leader of the Provincial People’s Committee about solutions to access loans and support funds so that farmers can have more capital to develop production.

The opinions of farmer members were responded by the representatives of provincial departments, agencies. The Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee directly clarified many issues that members and farmers were interested in.

Concluding the conference, Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee highly appreciated the effectiveness and methods of the Provincial Farmers’ Union as well as farmer members’ frank idea contribution at the conference.

He also noted that in the coming time, the Provincial Farmers’ Union, the mobilization committees for farmers’ support funds at all levels should continue to mobilize organizations, individuals and enterprises to provide capital for farmers’ support funds; focus on propagating businesses, benefactors, farmer members to contribute funding so that many farmer members can borrow capital for production to improve their lives and so on.
