Ready to meet the requirement of centralized quarantine at hotels

(LSO) – In the context of the complicated Covid-19 epidemic, in order to meet the practical requirements, the Provincial People’s Committee allows the establishment of a centralized quarantine facility at hotels for cases of voluntary quarantine with payment. Recently, the requisitioned hotels have been proactive and ready to receive quarantine citizens; ensuring safety to peventt epidemics.

According to the Decision No.1099/QD-UBND dated 12/6/2020 of the Provincial People’s Committee, 3 hotels in Lang Son city implement concentrated quarantine for those who are voluntarily paid for fees including Lang Son Muong Thanh Hotel Luxury, Lang Son Union Hotel and Kim Son Hotel Lang Son. Foreign experts, investors who enter Vietnam and who are under medical quarantine at concentrated quarantine facilities in the province can all do concentrated quarantine at the hotels if they wish and voluntarily pay for the quarantine costs. Currently, there are 49 cases in the province being quarantined at hotels in Lang Son city.

In order to ensure the inspection and supervision of concentrated quarantine at the hotels, the People’s Committee of Lang Son City has established a Steering Committee for concentrated quarantine and to operate concentrated quarantine activities at hotels in the city. Mrs. Nong Bich Diep, Vice Chairwoman of the City People’s Committee, Head of the Steering Committee said: ‘The Steering Committee consists of forces such as health, police, local authority, hotel representatives. Each member is assigned a specific task. According to the assigned tasks, the members of the committee have been well performing their duties and assigned tasks in the spirit of ensuring absolute safety and compliance with regulations.’

Regarding the hotels, right after the decision of the Provincial People’s Committee, the selected hotels have prepared the best conditions for the prevention of epidemics and are ready to receive quarantined citizens. Mr. Than Duc Hop, Director of Lang Son Union Hotel said: ‘The unit has prepared the best of living conditions, rooms, medical quarantine conditions in accordance with regulations. On June 12, 2020, the hotel received the first 46 guests who are Chinese experts and businessmen who entered Vietnam. The hotel has actively prepared and ensured a full range of epidemic prevention and control equipment such as disinfectant liquid, medical protective suit for hotel staff, the offer of two medical masks per day . In addition, the unit also cooperates with health agencies to carry out health checks, body temperature measurements for quarantine people 2 times per day. Through monitoring, it shows that, at present, all quarantined cases are in good health.’

Although in the middle of preparation to receive quarantine cases, Lang Son Muong Thanh Luxury hotel is ready to ensure the safety conditions in the prevention of Covid-19, serving the quarantine. Mr. Dam Thuan Tiep, Director of Lang Son Muong Thanh Luxury Hotel said: ‘The hotel has arranged a separate area with 140 rooms for quarantined people. Maximum of two beds per room with a distance of  2m are prepared. The room is full of essential items such as separate trash, clean water, soap, hand disinfectant liquid, at the same time, ensuring the requirements of health monitoring for quarantined people.

According to expert agencies, in the coming time, the number of foreign tourists who are experts and investors entering Vietnam will increase in large numbers, therefore the demand for quarantine in hotels continues to grow. This is the issue concerned by all levels and branches in the province. Mr. Ly Kim Soi, Deputy Director of the Department of Health, said that the Department is actively coordinating with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to check and review accommodation facilities. If they meet the requirements on medical conditions, facilities and infrastructure, we will continue to advise the People’s Committee to decide on selection and requisition. The Department of Health will continue to guide and supervise the prevention and control of Covid-19 for hotels.
