The 2nd Provincial Press Award to be held on June 18

On the afternoon of June 3, Lang Son Provincial Press Award Council held a meeting to agree on the contents related to the result and the awarding of the 2^nd Provincial Press Award; considered the plan to organize the 3^rd Provincial Press Award. Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, Chairman of Provincial Press Award Council chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, the council members discussed and commented on the draft plan for awarding the 2^nd Provincial Press Award, the plan to launch the 3^rd Provincial Press Award, specifically, the result of jury, the number of entries winning the prizes, planning and preparation for the award ceremony; time and place of the award ceremony…

Council members also contributed many ideas to evaluate the quality of entries submitted to the 2^nd Lang Son Provincial Press Award; stated and clarified a number of difficulties and shortcomings and proposed ways to organize the award more effectively in the future.

Concluding the meeting, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Press Award Council requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial Journalists Association to absorb the comments of the members of the council to complete the draft plans on organizing the 2^nd Lang Son Provincial Press Award in association with the 97^th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day; draft plan to launch the 3^rd Lang Son Provincial Press Award.

Regarding the press awarding in association with the 97^th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, the Chairman of the Provincial Press Award Council noted that it should be solemn, meaningful, effective and economical. The time to hold the event was decided at 9:00 am on Saturday, June 18, 2022.

In order to successfully organize the launch of the 3^rd Provincial Press Award, he suggested that the press agencies strengthen communication widely on the mass media about the provincial award to a large number of journalists inside and outside the province.

He also emphasized that the Provincial Journalists Association and press agencies should pay attention to professional training for reporters and editors in the direction of “carefully instructing them” in order to increasingly improve the professional qualifications and operational skills of reporters as well as the quality of journalistic works of all types. Along with that, press agencies should organize journalism awards according to specific types and topics so that journalists can have a playground and improve professional skills for reporters and editors. Thereby, it contributes to propagating the guidelines and policies of the Party and State to a large number of people in the province.

In the 2^nd Lang Son Provincial Press Award, the Provincial Journalists Association has received 104 journalistic entries to participate in the award in many the categories including printed newspapers, printed magazines; e-newspapers; broadcasting; TV; photo newspaper. After the preliminary evaluation, there were 44 entries that entered the final round and were considered for prizes.
