Lang Son won 6 prizes at the 3rd National Defense and Security Education Sports Festival for high school students

From December 12 to 17, athletes from the Lang Son Department of Education and Training participated in the 3rd National Defense and Security Education Sports Festival for high school students in 2022, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training held in Can Tho city.

At this year’s sports festival, the delegation of the Department of Education and Training of Lang Son province has 12 athletes participated (9 official and 3 reserve) in all competitions, the results achieved 6 prizes (3 individual prizes, 3 collective prizes; results announced on December 23).  Specifically: 3 individual prizes, including 1 first prize in the AK rifle gun shooting contest, 2 consolation prizes in the 800 m armed run competition with AK rifle gun; 3 collective prizes, including 1 third prize in Emergency and transfer techniques (Grade 10), 2 consolation prizes in AK rifle gun shooting (grade 12) and 800m running competition with AK rifle gun (grade 12).

The National Defense and Security Education Sports Festival for high school students nationwide is held every 4 years. The 2022 sports festival has 54 delegations in 63 provinces and cities (53 Departments of Education and Training and Vietnam Northern Upland High School) participated in 9 competitions:  General knowledge about National Defense and Security; squad team; the team one by one without guns; emergency and transfer techniques; removing and installing AK rifle gun; the technique of using grenades (throw the grenade far to the target); firing live AK rifle ammunition (lying down, target number 4a, 3-round bullets); applying basic postures and movements when maneuvering in combat; 800m armed run with AK rifle gun (male, female). The competition contents are in the curriculum of national defense and security education which are being taught in high schools.
