Program to call for support to Humanitarian Fund and “Tet of Kindness” Movement in the Lunar New Year 2023: Organizations and units commit to accompany and support over 6.1 billion VND

On the morning of December 27, the Provincial People’s Committee held a program to call for support to the Humanitarian Fund and the “Tet of Kindness” Movement in the Lunar New Year 2023. Attending the program were Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee, the leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Association, the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly, the Provincial People’s Council, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, districts, Lang Son city, businesses, benefactors.

At the program, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee called for the support from on agencies, units, organizations, businesses, benefactors inside and outside the province and all officials, party members, and people with the Party Committee and provincial government to “Tet of Kindness” Movement in order to help the disadvantaged people in society overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives and financially able to enjoy spring and celebrate the Lunar New Year, the of the Rabbit 2023. At the same time, the support for Provincial Humanitarian Fund will become proactive resources in unexpected circumstances as natural disasters, epidemics and other emergency situations in the area. Along with that, the Provincial Red Cross Association has been assigned to continue to be a reliable address for people from all walks of life inside and outside the province as well as the overseas Vietnamese community to send their donations to humanitarian activities.

He suggested that Party committees and authorities at all levels strengthen their leadership, agencies, boards, sectors, Fatherland Front committees and socio-political organizations coordinate with the Red Cross Association to effectively implement the movement and use the amount of support received with publicity, transparency, into the right purposes, for those in need, in accordance with the law.

He also asked the Provincial Red Cross Association to direct it smaller units at all levels to closely coordinate with local boards, sectors and mass organizations, to review and classify objects in need of help; to strengthen coordination with media agencies to promote propaganda, mobilization and timely praise of organizations and individuals with achievements in supporting the “Tet of Kindness” movement.; to call for support from organizations and individuals inside and outside the province as well as the People to  the “Tet of Kindness” movement. This helps the Association receive more resources sent to disadvantaged people to enjoy Tet.

Also at the program, the leader of the Provincial Red Cross Association read a letter calling for support to the Humanitarian Fund, the “Tet of Kindness” movement in the Lunar New Year 2023. Accordingly, implementing the “Tet of Kindness” movement in 2023, all levels of the Red Cross Association of the province strive to call for 17,500 Tet gifts, each gift worth 300,000 VND or more. Association’s smaller unit in districts, city, branches and clubs are striving to call for 15,450 gifts. The implementation time of the movement’s activities is from December 2022 to January 18, 2023, in which the peak period is from January 3, 2023 to January 18, 2023.

In the program, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross donated 50 million VND to the Humanitarian Fund and the “Tet of Kindness” movement in Lang Son province; The Provincial Administration Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha has committed to support the construction of 2 Humanitarian Houses.

Afterwards, the Organizing Committee of the program awarded the “Golden Hearts of Humanity” certificates to units, businesses and benefactors who have committed to donate to the program with 6.1 billion VND. Organizations, units, businesses and benefactors have also directly support the Humanitarian Fund and the “Tet of Kindness” movement in the Lunar New Year of 2023 with over 141 million VND.
