2 candidates enter the national final round of the English Olympiad for students

On September 21, Lang Son Provincial Youth Union and Provincial Youth Federation held a ceremony for the winners of provincial final round of the 5th English Olympiad for students in 2023.

There were 20 contestants who are students from colleges, high schools, vocational – continuing education centers participating in the provincial final round in the province. At the contest, participants confidently demonstrated their talents through presentations on history, culture, society and interview with the jury in English.

As a result, the Provincial Organizing Committee of the Contest awarded 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes, 4 third prizes and 10 fourth prizes to those with excellent achievements. The 2 contestants who won first prize at the provincial final round were Pham Minh Hieu, Class 12A6, Viet Bac High School, Lang Son city; To Quang Ninh, Class K18TV6, Lang Son College of Education, who will represent Lang Son province to participate in the national final.

Previously, the 5th English Olympiad for students in 2023 was organized at the provincial level from May 2023. After 5 weeks of the provincial qualifying round, 7,288 students participated in the multiple-choice exam. After the qualifying round, the 20 candidates with the highest scores entered the provincial final round.

The contest is organized by the Central Youth Union and the Central Vietnam Student Association in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training. This is a healthy playground, creating an effective learning and practice environment, creating excitement in the English learning movement for students of non-English major schools.
