Implementing tasks to ensure traffic order and safety in 2022

– On January 25, the Traffic Safety Committee of Lang Son province held an online conference to review the work of ensuring traffic safety and order in 2021 and to implement the tasks in 2022.

Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee chaired the conference.

According to the report at the conference, in 2021, the traffic safety and order situation in the province has been maintained, traffic accidents have been reduced in all 3 criteria compared to the previous year, no traffic serious accident occurs.

Specifically, in 2021, in Lang Son province, 52 traffic accidents have occurred, leading to the deaths of 49 people and the injuries of 18 people; compared with the same period last year, decreasing 1 case, 3 dead, 2 injured people. Lang Son is one of 10 provinces and cities with the lowest number of traffic accidents in the country.

In 2022, the province aims to reduce from 5% of traffic accidents and the number of deaths and injuries compared to 2021; to restrain and reduce traffic accidents related to passenger vehicles, motorcycles and mopeds.

To achieve those goals, the relevant forces continue to focus on propagating, raising the awareness and self-discipline of law observance of traffic participants; continue to effectively implement the plans for separating traffic lanes, preventing traffic jams on the roads entering and exiting the border gate area… at the same time, well implement the plan of traffic safety in 2022 with the theme “Building a safe traffic culture associated with effective control of the COVID-19 pandemic”.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee said: “In the coming time, districts and city need to continue to identify traffic safety as one of the most important political tasks; to focus on changing the contents and methods of education, propagating and disseminating the law on traffic safety to people. The branches and functional forces should focus on inspecting and strictly handling violations including not wearing helmets, using alcohol and drugs for drivers while driving. At the same time, it is necessary to effectively implement the peak period to ensure traffic safety during Tet and festival season; to arrange regular forces to maintain patrol and control, especially in key areas and routes.

The Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee awards certificates of merit to individuals and units with outstanding achievements in ensuring traffic order and safety in 2021.

At the same time, it is necessary to perform well the inspection and control of vehicles associated with the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic; to strengthen the application of information technology and digital transformation in ensuring traffic order and safety, to promote the effectiveness of the surveillance camera system and handling violations; to detect and strictly handle violations of load; to keep the training, testing, and issuance of driver’s licenses to be accordance with the provisions of the law….”

At the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to 12 individuals and units with outstanding achievements in ensuring traffic order and safety in 2021.
