Viettel Lang Son donates 500 tablets and 4G sim cards to students with difficult circumstances

– On December 28, the Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) Lang Son branch (Viettel Lang Son) held a ceremony to present tablets and 4G sim cards to students with difficult circumstances. This is one of the activities of the unit in response to the program “Waves and computers for children” launched by the Prime Minister.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; leaders of the departments of Education and Training; Information and Communication.

According to a review by the Department of Education and Training, there are currently over 23,000 students in the province who have enough equipment to serve online learning.

In addition, in some remote areas, the Internet and 4G networks have not yet met the online learning needs of students.

In order to support students with difficult circumstances, over the past time, Viettel Lang Son has mobilized funds from all officers and employees of the branch and other sources to buy tablets to support students in the area.

At the ceremony, Viettel Lang Son branch presented 500 tablets with 4G Viettel sim for 3 months of free data with a total value of 2.1 billion VND to disadvantaged students in the province. Thereby, it contributes to better meet the online learning needs of students.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee highly appreciated the contributions of Viettel Lang Son to the education of the province in the past time; At the same time, he affirms: “The noble act of Viettel Lang Son has contributed to building the education system in the province as well as solving a part of the difficulties in the learning needs of students during the complicated developments of COVID-19 pandemic.”

He directed the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with the provincial Department of Information and Communications to develop a plan to review, allocate and hand over the above devices to students with difficult conditions in the province, ensuring right object, right purpose.
