Meeting to commend the coaches and athletes of the province with high achievements

On the afternoon of June 5, the Provincial People’s Committee held a meeting to commend coaches and athletes with high achievements at the 31st SEA Games and national sports tournaments in the first 6 months of 2022. Attending the meeting were Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and the leaders of departments, commissions, sectors, Lang Son city, Cao Loc district.

In the first 6 months of 2022, Lang Son sport has recorded many achievements with 27 medals of all kinds, including 4 gold medals, 13 silver medals, 10 bronze medals at high-achieving sports tournaments of the country and ASEAN nations. In particular, the typical contribution of athlete Nong Van Huu from the Provincial Sports Competition and Training Center, participating in Wushu competition at the SEA Games 31 and won 2 bronze medals.

Congratulating and commending the management staff, coaches and athletes of the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center for their efforts to overcome all difficulties, trying their best to gain high achievements for their province, at the meeting, the Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee emphasized: “The achievements of athletes at the 31st SEA Games and national sports tournaments are noble and worthy rewards of the determination, perseverance and unceasing persistence of coaches and athletes; which is the result of the attention, direction, and investment in sports development strategy of the province, especially high-achievement sports in the direction of professional development.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee suggested that the athletes “win without arrogance, lose without discouragement”, continue to persevere in training and achieve high results in the coming time, with the spirit of “surpassing yourself, winning yourself”. He also hoped that under the dedicated guidance of the coaches, the athletes with high-achievement of the province would always maintain their will, determination and efforts in training and competition to gain the highest results in the next sports tournament, especially the upcoming 9^th National Sports Festival in 2022 and the National Youth Wushu Championship to be held in Lang Son province in the near future. At the same time, he asked all levels and sectors to well implement mechanisms and policies on sports, fostering sports talents, contributing to promoting the province’s sports career to higher levels.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to 4 athletes and 2 coaches who achieved excellent results at national and ASEAN sports competitions. At the same time, cash rewards were presented to 16 athletes and 6 coaches with high achievements at national and ASEAN tournaments.

Also in the meeting, the representative of Cao Loc District People’s Committee awarded athletes Nong Van Huu and the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center.
