Provincial leaders meet intellectuals, artists and media agencies on the occasion of the 2023 Lunar New Year

On the afternoon of January 16 (ie, December 25 in the Lunar calendar), the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee held a meeting with intellectuals, artists, and press agencies on the occasion of the 2023 Lunar New Year.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee; leaders of the National Assembly Delegation, People’s Council, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of departments, agencies and 250 representatives of intellectuals, writers and artists, leaders and reporters of press agencies of the province, representatives of central newspapers residing in the province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee affirmed: Over the past time, Lang Son province has always focused on developing a contingent of intellectuals, writers and artists, creating favorable conditions and promoting the role of press agencies. The team of intellectuals, writers, artists and journalists have also made great efforts to make positive contributions to the overall development of the province. He emphasized: 2023 is the pivotal year to implement the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress and the socio-economic development plan for the period of 2021 – 2025. In that context, it will open up many opportunities and advantages, but also many difficult challenges, it is necessary to have more contributions from the team of intellectuals, writers, artists and journalists.

The chairman hoped that at this meeting, intellectuals, artists and journalists could frankly express their thoughts, aspirations, at the same time make suggestions, plans, and solutions to mechanisms, policies, direction and administration in order to create a breakthrough development in all fields, so that Lang Son province develops rapidly, comprehensively and sustainably.

In the open atmosphere of the meeting, the delegates expressed their joy and excitement at the achievements that the province has achieved in 2022; they expressed thoughts, aspirations, and proposed to the provincial leaders a number of issues related to the policy of attracting highly qualified people to work in the province; consolidated the contingent of leaders and managers of press agencies, relevant departments and sectors; focused on facilities and resources for journalism, art and culture, scientific research, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee praised the contributions of intellectuals, artists, and press agencies in the socio-economic development of the province over the past time. He wished that intellectuals, writers, artists and journalists would continue to overcome difficulties, contribute their enthusiasm and wisdom to research, create, propose initiatives, criticize policies, and take the lead in propagating and implementing guidelines and policies of the Party and State, contributing to socio-economic development, improving the people’s material and spiritual life.

Regarding the comments expressed at the meeting, Mr. Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee noted and received the proposals and recommendations of the delegates and answered some contents and assigned a number of relevant departments and agencies to study and consider in the coming time.

On the occasion of the 2023 Lunar New Year, Mr. Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee wished writers, artists, intellectuals and journalists a new year full of health, happiness and continued to achieve many new successes, make greater contributions to the building and development of the province in the coming time.
