Following Uncle Ho to be creative in production

Over 14 years working in the mold making division of Bao Long Co., Ltd., La Ngoc Tung has constantly been researching and finding new ways to improve productivity and quality of product. In early 2023, he was honored to receive the Creative Labor Certificate from Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Born in 1984, at the age of 39, La Ngoc Tung has 14 years of career and 9 years of Party life. During 14 years working in the mold making division, he always strives to research and be creative in his work with the aim of exceed the assigned plan targets and improving productivity and quality of product. Tung shared: “Studying and following Uncle Ho, I always remind myself to be dedicated to assigned works. During the production process, I keep learning new technologies, find new materials to improve techniques for better product design, shorter time, less effort, and cheaper raw materials and higher competitiveness of products in the market.”

With the desire to innovate in order to both improve product quality and reduce the amount of works for workers, he spent time researching and contributing many ideas to advise the company’s leaders to improve technique and to save raw materials in production. That creativity is clearly shown by his annual technical improvement initiatives. Particularly in 2022, he has two initiatives with a profit value of over 200 million VND.

Specifically, in 2022, realizing the limitations in manually inserting molds, he and his colleagues researched and invented “Aluminum mold to cover product”. It allows lighter and faster insertion of the mold. Each different product requires a different mold such as pump head, connection neck, rear and front covers of motor… The application of aluminum mold to cover product in production has been labor-saving, helping to reduce the rate of products with mistake, to improve productivity and quality of product with a benefit value of about 150 million VND.

Also in 2022, he and his colleagues researched and made the “automatic clay hopper” from iron-framed tole, connected to the steam line for automatic discharge. Workers only need to set the amount of clay needed and press the switch to make the system operate automatically. This initiative is labor-saving and time-saving in daily pouring of materials, without spilling and dirtying the factory floor. It is estimated that this initiative benefits the company about 50 million/year VND.

Ms. Dinh Thi Minh Loan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Bao Long Co., Ltd. said: “Tung is an exemplary party member, he is enthusiastic in all activities, who doesn’t mind any hardships, always completes the assigned tasks, studies hard, stays creative in production, he is trusted by the Party committee and leaders of the company and loved by colleagues. Many of his initiatives from previous years have been effectively applied by the company such as “Plastic sand making nozzle”, “Fan for mold making section”… Especially, the innovative “Fan for mold making section” is widely used in factories, helping the company save money on investment and fan repair in the long run, improve the working environment and protect workers’ health.”

The initiatives of Tung have contributed to improving productivity and quality of product, bringing about economic efficiency and great significance in the company’s production and business activities and they affirms the effectiveness of the movement “Hard-working and creative labor” among workers.

With what he has done, Tung has been continuously classified as “Excellent Worker” from 2020 until now. In particular, at the beginning of 2023, he was classified as an excellent party member and was honored to receive the Creative Labor Certificate of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
