Special Festival of cultural and artistic clubs and traditional national costume performance of Lang Son city

On October 14, Lang Son City People’s Committee organized the final round of the Then Gourd Lute Singing Clubs; folk songs, folk dance, community dancing; Introducing and performing traditional national costumes. This is an activity within the framework of Lang Son City’s Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2023.

 Attending the festival were Mrs. Doan Thi Loan, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee; Representatives of the People’s Council and City People’s Committee along with a large number of residents and tourists.

Participating in the Festival were more than 400 artisans and artists from 25 units who successfully passed the preliminary round that took place previously on October 1, 2023.

In the final round, the teams participated in 4 main parts including: singing then dan ting; folk songs and dances; Community dance and traditional ethnic costume performance. Accordingly, the contestants performed 21 traditional costume performances; 6 performances of then gourd lute singing; 5 folk song and folk dance performances and 10 community dance performances.

The folk song club’s sli singing performance was performed by the sli singing club of Trung Cap village, Mai Pha commune

 According to the assessment of the Organizing Committee, the participating units all created impressive performances that were carefully invested and choreographed. In the traditional ethnic costume performance competition, the teams demonstrated and highlighted the beauty of the traditional costumes of ethnic groups in the province. In the then gourd lute singing, folk singing, folk dancing and community dancing competitions, contestants from different units have practiced and prepared carefully, bringing to the audience many new and attractive emotions.

 At the end of the program, for the whole group prize: The Organizing Committee awarded a second prize to Chi Lang ward, third prize to Dong Kinh ward; 5 consolation prizes went to the following units: Tam Thanh Ward, Mai Pha Commune, Vinh Trai Ward, Quang Lac Commune, Hoang Dong Commune

Prizes for art performances corresponding to 4 contents include: 4 A prizes, 8 B prizes, 10 C prizes and 14 consolation prizes, of which: A prize for Then gourd lute singing – belongs to the Then singing club of Hoang Van Thu ward; Prize A in the folk song and folk dance content went to the sli singing club of Trung Cap village, Mai Pha commune; Prize A in the community dance category went to Vinh Trai ward shuffle dance club; 2 A prizes for traditional national costume performance went to Hoang Van Thu Kindergarten and Vinh Trai Ward People’s Committee. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 3 thematic awards to excellent contestants and units participating in the festival.

The festival is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the liberation of Lang Son (October 17, 1950 – October 17, 2023) and the 21st anniversary of the establishment of Lang Son city (October 17, 2002 – October 17, 2023). The event is an opportunity for artisans, cultural subjects and people in the area to practice, perform, promote and introduce the unique cultural heritage values of the ethnic people of Lang Son. Thereby, not only does it contribute to honoring the unique cultural heritage of the ethnic people of Lang Son, but it also contributes to promoting and introducing the image and people of Lang Son city – the city of peach blossom flowers is friendly, close, and hospitable to domestic and international friends.
