To effectively carry out the work of urban beautification to welcome Tet, from November 2023, the People’s Committee of Lang Son city has issued a plan to organize activities to celebrate the Party, celebrate spring and the traditional festival of Lang Son city in the 2024 Lunar New Year. Specifically, the City People’s Committee directed specialized divisions, communes and wards People’s Committees to coordinate with relevant units to proactively implement planned measures. For decoration and urban beautification work, relevant units performed fresh flower decoration, repaired, operated and replaced lighting systems; decorated the space to celebrate Party and spring celebration activities.

Mr. Dinh Bang Son, Head of Lang Son City Urban Management Division said: Following the direction of the City People’s Committee, currently, the division has coordinated with the construction unit to repaint road markings, stop and parking lines, and pedestrian lines at traffic signal lights thathave been blurred or peeled off on some main roads in the city such as Hung Vuong, Le Loi, Ba Trieu streets… Besides, these days, workers of the Urban Drainage Branch are cleaning and sanitizing the locations of traffic islands to prepare for decoration work. Mr. Phan Quoc Manh, Deputy Director of the Urban Drainage Branch said: To ensure urban beautification work to welcome Tet, the unit mobilized human resources and vehicles to whitewash tree stumps and electric poles on streets; trim trees, plant additional trees and grass. In addition, the unit plans to decorate Xu Lang spring flower street and decorate the peach blossom festival space in Chi Lang Park area. This year, the implementation of sidewalk renovation and embellishment projects is one of the tasks urgently carried out by the city’s functional agencies to create a spacious, clean and beautiful urban appearance. Notable projects include the project to renovate and upgrade existing lighting with energy-saving LED lights and the project to renovate the electric sidewalk lighting system, decorate Chi Lang ward with the scale of embellishing the sidewalks with chopped dark green stone in 7 routes (Hung Vuong, Quang Trung, Tran Hung Dao, Dinh Tien Hoang, Mai The Chuan, Da Tuong, Nguyen Thai Hoc).

To date, we have replaced and installed existing lights with smart LED lights on 90/111 streets and auxiliary items (expected to be completed before December 23 in lunar calendar); For the project to embellish the electrical lighting and decoration sidewalk system in Chi Lang ward, up to now, we have installed blocks and boundary ditches on 4 routes.
