11th “Through Viet Bac Heritage Sites” tourism programme opens in Lang Son

(LSO) – On November 4, the Lang Son People’s Committee in collaboration with the provinces of Cao bang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang held a special art concert in Lang Son city to mark the 110th birth anniversary of Hoang Van Thu (November 4, 1909 – 2019) and open the 11th “Through Viet Bac Heritage Sites” tourism programme.

Prominent guests at the event were Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Pham Ngoc Thuong, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; Doan Thi Hau, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council; and Duong Xuan Huyen, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the organising board of the tourism programme. Leaders of the provinces which form the Viet Bac region, together with Chinese representatives from Pingxiang and Chongzuo in Guangxi province, were also present.

The programme was scheduled to take place from November 3 – 5, featuring a series of activities like a conference-exhibition on Viet Bac’s and Guangxi’s tourism and a local contest for tour guides.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Huyen stated the event is an opportunity for provinces and enterprises involved to promote their products to domestic and foreign visitors.

Via the programme, Vietnamese and Chinese firms from Guangxi can exchange experiences and foster tourism cooperation, he added.

Leaders of departments of sports and tourism of the six provinces in the Viet Bac region receive bouquets and flags from the organiser.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Huyen stated the event is an opportunity for provinces and enterprises involved to promote their products to domestic and foreign visitors.

Also at the ceremony, Thuong presented the event’s flags to participating delegations.

Thai Nguyen will take turn to host the 12th edition of the programme next year.
