Conference on trade promotion of agricultural products in Lang Son province in 2021

– On the morning of July 19, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development associated with the Department of Industry and Trade, the People’s Committees of 2 districts: Chi Lang and Huu Lung to organize an online conference to promote the trade of Chi Lang’s custard apple product and OCOP products in Lang Son province in 2021.

Attending the conference were Mr. Luong Trong Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and delegates at the focal points of 9 northern provinces and cities (Hanoi, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Vinh Phuc, Nam Dinh, Hung Yen, Nghe An, Hai Duong, Bac Giang).

According to the report at the conference, currently, in the province, there are 26 products granted protective certificate, 47 products are recognized as OCOP products. In the province, a concentrated production area of custard apple has been established in the districts of Chi Lang and Huu Lung with an area of 3,500 ha, of which, more than 800 ha have meet VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards; vegetable production areas concentrated in the city of Lang Son and the districts of Cao Loc and Loc Binh, Van Quan Binh Gia with areas of 3,000 hectares; persimmon production areas in Van Lang and Cao Loc district with an area of 1,700 ha; black jelly production areas in districts of Trang Dinh, Binh Gia with an area of over 3,000 ha; tangerine production areas in districts of Trang Dinh, Binh Gia, Bac Son with an area of 1,400 ha, etc.

Additionally, in order to meet export demand, the competent authorities have granted the production unit code for 12,18 hectares of bananas in Van Lang; 40 hectares of custard apples in Chi Lang; 60 hectares of black jelly in Trang Dinh district, etc.

Concluding the conference, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee wished that the agricultural product trade promotion agencies of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development would continue to support, seek and develop new markets, provide information on forecasting long-term market so that the province can adjust the crop structure to meet the requirements on design and quality; Provinces and cities continue to support Lang Son province in connecting and promoting the consumption and export of agricultural products, directing, encouraging businesses, distribution channels, supermarkets and wholesale markets to participate in consuming agricultural products of Lang Son province.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested the departments, commissions and People’s Committees of districts and city in the province to boost the work of supporting farmers in producting, cooperating  to produce quality products and find output for products, avoiding the situation of devaluation season to contribute to promoting the province’s general socio-economic development.

During the conference, leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Industry and Trade signed an online memorandum of cooperation with the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy – Ministry of Industry and Trade in developing value production chains and consumption of agricultural products and safety food.
