Trang Dinh develops key agricultural products

(LSO) – Trang Dinh district in Lang Son province has defined some key agricultural products such as agricultural products such as cinnamon, anise, black jelly, mandarin, and rice. In recent years, these products have been developed and brought economic values thanks to technical solutions and sale connection.

The district has established concentrated growing areas for the key farm produce and opened training courses on cultivation, caring and harvesting techniques for farmers.

The district has earned a collective trademark certification for mandarin, cinnamon, and black jelly. Their values have increased through years. For example, cinnamon was valued at 480 million VND per hectare in 2019, anise 189 million VND per hectare, and mandarin 100-150 million VND per hectare.

To increase the value of key crops, the district aims to boost connection and expand markets with both domestic and foreign partners.

In January 2020, the district signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with Vietnam Staraniseed Cassia Manufacturing and Exporting Joint Stock Company (VINA SAMEX., JSC). The company is sending experts to train farmers in cultivating, nurturing and harvesting techniques.

The district also created favourable conditions for Duc Quy production and investment company to invest in building a jelly processing factory in Kim Dong commune. The firm signed to purchase black jelly for farmers and support them with growing, caring and harvesting techniques to provide clean products for the market.

It aims to promote production and export of black jelly to China in the coming time./.
