Lang Son city commends 30 people with meritorious services and 13 typical collectives and individuals in the gratitude movement

On the morning of July 26, the People’s Committee of Lang Son city held a conference to honor people with meritorious services and typical collectives and individuals in the gratitude movement on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of war invalids and martyrs Day (July 27, 1947-July 27, 2022). 

Attending the conference were Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Nguyen Cong Truong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Council of Lang Son City; leaders of some departments and sectors of the province.

Currently, in the city, there are 6,920 policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services with the revolution. In the period of 2017-2022, the city has paid attention to the leadership, direction and organization of well implementation of the regimes and policies for people with meritorious services, promote the movement “Repaying gratitude”, step by step improve and enhance the material and spiritual life of the people with meritorious services and their relatives with the revolution in the area. The payment of the annual allowance regime is made timely and fully. Up to now, 100% of people with meritorious services and policy families in the city have a standard of living equal to or higher than the average standard of living compared to the residents; 8/8 wards and communes are recognized as units that do well in the work of war invalids and martyrs.

Leaders of Lang Son city give gifts to wounded soldier Pham Tien Dam, Dong Kinh ward

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Invalids and Martyrs’ Day in 2022, the People’s Committee of the city, wards, communes and agencies and units have organized many meaningful and practical activities. In which, they delivered gifts from the President to 932 objects, delivered gifts from the province to 946 objects with a total budget of over 850 million VND; organized 4 delegations to visit and give gifts to 20 researchers and policy families; gave 70 gifts to people with meritorious services  and cadres and civil servants who are wounded soldiers, wounded soldiers’ children, and children of martyrs who are working at agencies and units of the city; Wards and communes have given 869 gifts to beneficiaries and policy families, totaling more than 460 million VND…

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee recognized and praised the achievements of Lang Son city in the care of people with meritorious services over the years. At the same time, he asked the Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in the city to continue paying attention to and promoting the propaganda of the Party and State’s guidelines and policies towards war invalids and sick soldiers, family of martyrs, people with meritorious services to the revolution. They also need to mobilized all resources to well perform the care of war invalids, sick soldiers, martyrs’ families and people with meritorious service. At the same time, they also need to promote the effective implementation of programs: building a “Gratitude” fund, building houses of gratitude, caring and helping wounded and seriously ill soldiers, elderly and lonely martyrs’ parents, taking care of “Vietnam’s Heroic Mothers”, giving priority to training and creating jobs for wounded soldiers children, children of martyrs and people with meritorious service, etc.; encouraging, motivating and creating conditions for war invalids, sick soldiers, families of martyrs, people with meritorious service to participate in social activities, production and business, and economic development.

During the conference, the Chairman of Lang Son City People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to 30 typical people with meritorious service households and 7 typical groups and 6 individuals in the gratitude movement.

On this occasion, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam, branch of Lang Son province, presented 30 gifts to typical people with meritorious service households of Lang Son city.
