Provincial Party Committee holds 17th meeting (extended)

(LSO) – The provincial Party Committee held the 17th meeting (extended) on October 4, 2019 under the chair of Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee.

Standing Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Hoang Van Nghiem delivered a report on the work performance in the first 9 months of the year and key tasks for the fourth quarter. The report emphasized that thanks to the focused and flexible leadership and direction of all-level Party committees and administrations, the local socio-economic situation showed good development, with budget contribution estimated at over 5 trillion VND, equivalent to 92.8 percent of estimates and up 37 percent year on year. The local social order and safety, along with national border sovereignty has been kept stable.

Regarding Party building work, 1,188 new members were admitted to the Party in the period, raising the total membership of the province’s Party organization to 63,479. All sectors and administrations at all levels actively implemented the key tasks as directed in Resolution 77 dated January 21, 2019 of the standing board of the provincial Party Committee.

At the meeting, the sub-committee in charge of drafting documents for the 17th Party congress of the province presented the detailed outlines of the draft Political Report of the 16th provincial Party Committee, to be submitted to the 17th Party congress of the province.

Following discussions, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Ngoc Thuong delivered a report, further clarifying the situation and the outcomes of socio-economic development tasks for the first 9 months of the year, along with orientations and tasks for the remaining three months. He also presented the outcomes of the province’s investment promotion conference which was held recently.

Addressing the meeting, the Secretary of the provincial Party Committee appreciated the efforts made by all sectors and administrations at all levels in carrying out tasks.

She pointed out outstanding problems that need to be addressed promptly, urging the province to map out concrete solutions in order to fuflil the set targets.

The meeting also elected supplementary members to the inspection board of the provincial Party Committee in the 2015-2020 tenure.
