The Provincial Delegation of National Assembly meets with voters and trade unionists and workers

On the morning of May 16, the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly led by Mr. Hoang Van Nghiem, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly met with voters who were trade unionists and workers in the province before the 5th meeting session of the 15th National Assembly.

Attending the meeting were Member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of Provincial People’s Committee Doan Thu Ha; Member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Nong Luong Chan; a leader of the Provincial People’s Council, the leaders of some departments and sectors and 120 voters who were trade union officials, unionists and employees.

Within the meeting, the deputies of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly informed voters about the proposed contents and agenda of the 5th meeting session of the 15th National Assembly. Accordingly, the meeting will open on May 22, 2023 and it is expected to close on June 23, 2023. This meeting session is divided into 2 phases, the first one is from May 22 to June 10; the second one is from June 19 to June 23.

At the session, the National Assembly will consider and approve 8 bills and comment on 8 bills, including bills related to employment and life of trade union members and employees such as Law on Land (amended); Law on Housing (amended); Law on Citizenship Identification (amended); Law on Credit Institutions (amended)… At the same time, issues related to socio-economy, state budget, supervision and other important issues.

At the meeting, 14 voters expressed their thoughts, aspirations, difficulties and problems, asked to receive consideration and solution; at the same time, they proposed to the deputies issues and areas of their concern such as adjustment of the retirement time in accordance with the characteristics of each profession and field; adjustment of the waiting period for one-time social insurance benefits; supplement of policies and allowances for employees; promulgation of mechanisms which create conditions for employees to buy social house; addition of workers’ meals into law; prevention of black credit from affecting workers’ lives…

After listening to voters’ opinions, the leaders of the Provincial People’s Committee and relevant departments and agencies clarified a number of issues within their competence.

Speaking at the meeting, the Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of the voters when they contributed ideas on bills as well as recommendations and proposals to remove difficulties in their life and production. He affirmed that the opinions of voters were important information as a basis for the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly to consider and discuss at the National Assembly. Moreover, the Delegation would synthesize and send all of the opinions to the drafting agencies with the aim of absorbing them and promulgating soon bills.

He suggested that the People’s Committee of the province, departments, sectors and district leaders should continue to pay attention to absorbing the opinions of voters in order to solve the problem and effectively implement them in the near future. Businesses and employers were required to continue closely coordinating with trade unions at all levels to protect legitimate rights and interests for employees, creating a civilizing, safe, democratic, equal working environment. Officials, members of the trade union and employees were asked to try to overcome difficulties, to promote their responsibility, to improve productivity, quality and efficiency of work for the sustainable development of the agencies, units and businesses.

On this occasion, trade unionists and workers in businesses received 100 gifts from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor with a total value of 120 million VND.
