Receiving 120 units of blood

(LSO) – On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Traditional Post office Day (August 15, 1945 – August 15, 2020), on August 30, the Post Office of Lang Son province in collaboration with the Provincial Red Cross Association organized the program “Vietnam Post Office – Droplets of red blood, 2020 ”.

Speaking at the opening of the program, the leaders of the Provincial Post Office conveyed the message “Donating blood to save people – a noble gesture” and called on all officials and employees in the sector to actively participate in the voluntary blood donation movement in order to share difficulties with patients in need of blood for medical treatment and emergency treatment at health facilities.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, officials and employees in the provincial post office and the masses of the people registered to donate blood at the festival. Through blood examination, testing and screening, there are 120 people eligible for blood donation, equivalent to 120 units of blood. This is a valuable source of blood to save the lives of many patients who need blood for treatment and emergency, especially in the period of blood shortage due to the effects of Covid – 19 epidemic.

It is known that the program “Vietnam Post Office – Droplets of red blood” has been launched by Vietnam Post Corporation for nearly 10 years.

In 2020, the program will be launched by the Vietnam Post Corporation in coordination with the Central Vietnam Red Cross Association within the postal system.

Accordingly, provinces and cities simultaneously held blood donation festivals in August 2020 with the intention to receive more than 10,000 blood units. In Lang Son, this is the first year the Provincial Post Office has responded to launching the program and organizing a blood donation festival.
