The inspection mission of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control inspected in Lang Son province

(LSO) – On July 9, the inspection mission No.2 of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control led by Mr. Hoang Minh Duc, Deputy Director of the General Department of Preventive Medicine, Ministry of Health checked the quarantine work at concentrated quarantine facilities in the area and worked with Lang Son Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Standing Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, together with the representatives of some departments and agencies worked with the inspection mission.

The mission inspected the citizen reception, body temperature check, medical declarations at Huu Nghi International Border Gate, Cao Loc district and the concentrated quarantine work at the Regiment 123, Chi Lang district.

Through inspection, Lang Son’s Covid-19 prevention and control has been closely and effectively implemented, contributing to preventing the epidemic from entering Vietnam. The process of arranging areas in quarantine facilities complies with the guidance of the Ministry of Health.

At the meeting with the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, the mission  listened to the report on epidemic prevention and control results in the province. Accordingly, to well implement the epidemic prevention and control, Lang Son has established three concentrated quarantine areas.

From February 3, 2020 to July 6, 2020, the three concentrated quarantine facilities received and safely quarantined 7,929 cases (7,408 people completed the 14-day quarantine and returned to the community), 521 cases are being quarantined.

Since June 12, 2020, 13 hotels and guest houses in the province have exercised concentrated quarantine for 722 cases of foreign experts working in Vietnam with their voluntary payment, the epidemic prevention and control is well executed.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee asked the National Steering Committee and the Ministry of Health to support Lang Son with a molecular biology testing system (Realtime RT-PCR), creating conditions for purchasing medical supplies, chemicals and testing bio-products to ensure timely and rapid SARS-CoV-2 testing in the area; proposed the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control to supplement and provide funding for the disease prevention and control; promptly issue documents guiding the implementation of quarantine for cases of illegal entry and exit.

Speaking at the meeting, the head of the inspection mission highly appreciated Lang Son’s epidemic prevention and control. He suggested that the province continue to strengthen the epidemic prevention and control, closely monitor epidemiology in border areas. At the same time, the mission received the province’s proposals and recommendations to synthesize and report to the National Steering Committee.
