Continuing to effectively implement measures to prevent and control the epidemic

(LSO) – Although Covid-19 has been successfully controlled, according to the specialized agency, there are still sources of the disease in the community, so there is always the risk of infection. Therefore, the provincial health sector continues to coordinate with relevant units to effectively implement the epidemic prevention and control.

On October 22, 2020, present at the entry area of ​​Huu Nghi International Border Gate, Cao Loc district, we found that epidemic prevention and control regulations were always seriously implemented by the units. Here, quarantine staff strictly follow the steps of health check for people entering Viet Nam. Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh, the representative of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province, said that in order to enter, experts working for the company have fully prepared valid and appropriate procedures and certificates to prove negative with SARS-CoV-2 virus. When entering through Huu Nghi International Border Gate, experts are transported by specialized vehicles and must be quarantined for 14 days. The company always complies with the regulations of Ministry of Health to ensure the highest efficiency of the epidemic prevention and control.

From the beginning of the year until now, foreigners entering Vietnam through Huu Nghi International Border Gate have been 23,381 times, 100% of those who enter have to carry out the steps of compulsory medical check for Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control according to regulations. Mr. Hoang Phuc Sinh, Head of Department of Medical Quarantine and Medical Treatment, Leader of Huu Nghi Medical Quarantine Group, Lang Son International Medical Quarantine Center said that the medical control process here is very strict. All people entering Viet Nam are required to make a medical report. For experts entering Vietnam, it is required to have testing papers with Covid-19 negative results twice or more issued by competent professional units. At the same time, the process of receiving people entering to quarantine facilities inside and outside the province has been closely coordinated in accordance with the regulations of Ministry of Health.

Currently, the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic in the world is developing complicatedly. In Vietnam, it has been more than 50 days that no new cases have arisen in the community. However, the risk of the disease is always present when Covid-19 infection cases are detected in cases of entry from abroad into Vietnam. Lang Son has a long border line with China, foreign experts entering Vietnam by road mainly go through Huu Nghi International Border Gate, so in addition to controlling, the epidemic prevention and control is also strictly carried out from border gates, border areas to inland.

Mr. Ly Kim Soi, Deputy Director of Department of Health, said that to ensure safety in the epidemic prevention and control, the health sector has actively coordinated with forces to well manage quarantine facilities. Also, Department of Health has regularly had sudden checks for the epidemic prevention and control in hospitals, affiliated units, and quarantine facilities; require units to ensure adequate medical supplies for the epidemic prevention and control and strictly comply with Health Ministry’s regulations on the epidemic prevention and control. Accordingly, quarantine establishments, hospitals, and units have not had errors in the epidemic prevention and control. From early 2020 up to now, the units have completed the reception, health check, concentrated quarantine monitoring for 9,752 people, self-payment quarantine for 5,342 people.

To bring into full play the achieved efficiency and determine that the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control continues to prolong with complicated developments, in the coming time, Department of Health will continue to monitor and urge all levels, agencies and related forces to synchronously and effectively implement the epidemic prevention and control from border gates to inland. In particular, it is required to strengthen propaganda so that people are proactive and highly aware in implementing epidemic prevention measures to completely prevent the risk of the epidemic spread.
