Lang Son has initially controlled the Covid-19 epidemic successfully

(LSO) – That is the assertion of Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee at the meeting of the Provincial Steering Committee for the Covid-19 Prevention and Control on the afternoon of August 11.

According to the report of Department of Health, as of 4:00 p.m. on August 10, 2020, the province’s quarantine areas received and quarantined 14,666 people (13,144 people completed their quarantine).

The total of Covid-19 testing samples is 14,505 samples, of which 14,167 samples are negative and 334 samples have not had any results. Lang Son has four positive cases for SARS-CoV-2 in Dinh Lap district, who are being quarantined and treated at Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2, Hanoi with stable health and spirit.

Through investigating and tracing, the whole province has 1,630 people related to Da Nang’s pesthole, of which four cases in Dinh Lap district are positive for SARS-CoV-2. Currently, there are 5,503 people under the medical management related Da Nang’s pesthole and returning from epidemic areas. The percentage of smart phone users installing Bluezone application in the province is 15.53%, Lang Son ranks 10^th in the country in terms of the application installation rate.

At the meeting, members of the Steering Committee proposed solutions to ensure the effectiveness of the epidemic prevention and control in the coming time such as enhancing propaganda and raising the people’s awareness; supporting more thermometers, medical equipment for border and border gate area checkpoints; strengthen testing for drivers and goods owners in border gates to ensure smooth import and export of goods.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee affirmed that Lang Son has initially controlled the Covid-19 epidemic successfully, after a week, no new cases have arisen in the province. The epidemic prevention and control has been strengthened at a high level with the participation of the entire political system.

The Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee asked the units to continue implementing measures to prevent the epidemic, not to neglect the epidemic situation. Measures in the coming time need to be strictly and thoroughly implemented such as speeding up the tracing and investigating of all cases returning from epidemic areas and cases with epidemiological factors to promptly control, quarantine according to regulations; testing subjects at high risk; ensuring the good implementation of the “dual goal”, the effective epidemic prevention and control, the maintenance of socio-economic development.

At the same time, it is necessary to promptly investigate and strictly manage the team of specialized drivers in the border gate area, build a streamlined and professional driver team, strictly comply with epidemic prevention and control regulations to well serve the import and export of goods. In addition, units need to well ensure security and order in the area, tighten border management, promptly prevent and handle illegal exit and entry.

The Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee asked the units to continue increasing propaganda to further raise the people’s awareness in the epidemic prevention and combat, and encourage people to use smart phones to install Bluezone application; strictly handle cases of untruthful information, not well implementing epidemic prevention measures. Department of Health has established missions to inspect, supervise and support the epidemic prevention and control in districts and the city; prepare adequate medical supplies and equipment for the worst possible situations.
