The unique way of winning the head of firecracker at Ky Cung – Ta Phu Festival

On the morning of February 17 (ie. the 27th of the first lunar month in the year of the Cat, the Festival Organizing Committee of Hoang Van Thu Ward (Lang Son City) organized Firecracker Head Festival. This is a unique highlight within Ky Cung – Ta Phu Festival.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Luong Trong Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; leaders of departments, boards and sectors of the province; leaders of the Party Committee, People’s Committee of Lang Son city.
In the ceremony, people and visitors enjoyed special art performances, notably the performance of the story about Than Cong Tai (worshiped at Ta Phu – Ky Lua Temple).

According to Organizing Committee, after 3 years of COVID-19 pandemic, this year, the Organizing Committee organized the game of winning firecracker head. It has attracted a large number of people and tourists.
At the festival, Ms. Ly Thi Ngoc, 33 years old, from Deo Giang block, Chi Lang ward, Lang Son city, won the firecracker head. Ms. Ngoc was awarded 2 million VND by the Organizing Committee with a tray of steamed sticky rice with a boiled chicken and a tray with 5 types of fruit. After winning the firecracker head, Ms. Ngoc received it from the Head of the Management Board of Ta Phu – Ky Lua Temple, together with offerings, and incense bowl of the god of fortune which will be worshiped at Ngoc’s house in this year. On the 20th of the first lunar month next year, she will return the firecracker head and offerings then pay a debt of gratitude to the temple.

After the Firecracker Head Festival, at 12 o’clock this afternoon, the Organizing Committee will process a palanquin to fetch the Great Tuan Tranh from Ta Phu – Ky Lua Temple to Ky Cung Temple.
