The leader of Provincial People’s Committee inspected the progress of Ban Lai reservoir project

(LSO) – On January 28, the delegation of the Provincial People’s Committee led by Mr. Luong Trong Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, inspected the construction of Po Hang resettlement area, Binh Xa commune (Dinh Lap); Pan Pe resettlement area, Khuat Xa commune (Loc Binh) and Ban Lai water reservoir key project in Khuat Xa commune, Loc Binh district.

According to the investor’s report, by the end of January 2021, Po Hang resettlement area has been 95% completed; Pan Pe resettlement area has reached 70% of its volume.

Both areas have sufficient infrastructure to arrange resettlement for households affected by Ban Lai reservoir project. Some households in Binh Xa commune, Dinh Lap district have moved and built new houses in the resettlement area.

Regarding clearance of the lake bed, Loc Binh and Dinh Lap districts displaced 90% of the people. The lake bed cleaning has been done by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development at 80%.

For Ban Lai irrigation dam, the works at the main work cluster have been completed by 95% of its volume, a number of items which are still under construction including the gate to the water intake, main canal system, spillway frame, returning the surface of provincial road 237… The amount of disbursement of the capital plan in 2020 is over 365 per 368 billion VND, reaching 99.1% of the allocated capital.

Concluding at the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee praised the project implementation units for drastically accelerating the progress from the beginning, which kept the project 6 months ahead of schedule plan; the districts have drastically implemented the work of compensation, assistance and resettlement to meet the requirements of project implementation.

Regarding the tasks in the coming time, he asked the two districts of Loc Binh and Dinh Lap to review and resolve the recommendations of the people related to the lake-bed area to finish displacing the residents, contributing to the goal for investors to accumulate water from April 2021. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development urgently should complete and adjust the design of the resettlement areas to build specific land prices in the resettlement areas. Regarding the construction of Po Hang bridge, the contractor need to urgently speed up the construction of the access road to the bridge to ensure traffic safety.

Comrade he also suggested that the Management Board of Irrigation Investment and Construction No. 2 under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development accelerate the return of provincial road 237 to serve the travel needs of people during the Lunar New Year 2021, especially the part passing concentrated residential areas.
