The field survey in Chi Lang historical relic site

– On the afternoon of July 29, the delegation of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Council led by Mr. Dinh Huu Hoc, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council surveyed relics in Chi Lang historical relic site (Chi Lang district) to serve the appraisal of the Draft Resolution of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on preserving, embellishing and promoting the value of Chi Lang historical relic in the 2021-2025 period, with a vision to 2030.

Chi Lang historical relic site was classified as a national relic in 1962, including 52 relic sites, most of which belong to Chi Lang commune and Dong Mo township, of which 24 sites were recognized as special national relics by the Prime Minister (in 2019).

The  delegation surveyed  Lang Trung Pagoda (Dong Mo township)

In the program, the delegation was divided into two groups and surveyed 24/24 special national relic sites in Chi Lang historical relic site.

The survey shows that most of the constructions are sketchy and the relic sites have not been paid attention to investment in restoration and embellishment. The exhibition space of Chi Lang Victory Gallery is small and narrow, with limited materials and documents. Activities promoting the value of relics are still weak, not yet impressing visitors, not showing the core and stature of historical events.

The delegation surveyed Cau Tram relic site and the foundation of Cai Quan Road

During the program, the delegates discussed and clarified the possibility of granting land use right certificates for the relics in phases; assessing the current situation and solutions to restore and embellish the relics … to adjust the content of the draft Resolution to suit reality.

Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council requested that the Commission for Culture and Social Affairs, the Provincial People’s Council receive comments to complete the draft Resolution.

At the same time, it is proposed that the People’s Committee of Chi Lang District review the current situation of land use at the relic sites, carry out necessary procedures to issue land use right certificates, especially six relic sites capable of issuing land use right certificates in 2022. Department of Natural Resources and Environment is required to facilitate appraisal and completion of documents and procedures to soon issue land use right certificates for relics. Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism must search and provide records and information related to the state management of relics and relic values and so on.

The People’s Committees of Chi Lang Commune, Dong Mo Township are requested to strengthen propaganda and mobilize the people not to encroach on relic corridors, gradually return the encroached land to the relics and well perform the state management of relics according to management hierarchy.
