Press conference announces 2 major events of Lang Son

(LSO) – On October 10, the Lang Son steering committee for the organization of major events held a press conference to announce activities marking the 110th birth anniversary of revolutionist Hoang Van Thu (November 4, 1909 – 2019) and the 11th “Crossing Viet Bac heritage sites” tourism programme.

Duong Xuan Huyen, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the steering committee, chaired the press conference, which drew the participation of representatives from the local public departments and sectors, the authorities of Lang Son city and Van Lang district, and 17 news agencies.

To date, the preparation for both events has been carried out on schedule.

The birth anniversary celebration is set to run from November 2 to 4, featuring a ministerial level scientific seminar themed “Hoang Van Thu – an outstanding Party leader and a prominent person from Lang Son” as well as a celebration ceremony slated for 8:30 pm on November 4. The ceremony will be broadcast live by the Vietnam Television.

The tourism programme will be participated by six provinces in the Viet Bac region, namely Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, and Tuyen Quang. The event lasts from November 3 to 5, with its opening ceremony taking place at 8 pm of November 4.

At the press conference, the committee fielded reporters’ questions on preparation work, notable tourism activities of the province, and draft documents for communications campaign on Hoang Van Thu’s life and career.

Speaking at the function, Huyen suggested news agencies increase their coverage of Lang Son’s key events, contributing to promoting the local land and people to domestic and international friends.
