It is necessary to continue to effectively implement the policy towards people with meritorious services to the revolution

On the morning of July 27, the Provincial People’s Committee held a conference to honor typical people with meritorious services and collectives and individuals who did well in the “Repaying Gratitude” movement in 2022.

Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen Quoc Doan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Hoang Van Nghiem, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders of the People’s Council, People’s Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

Currently, the whole province is managing over 33,000 people with meritorious services. Every month, the province makes regular allowance payments to over 3,900 people with meritorious services with a budget of more than 7 billion VND. In addition, the province also directs functional agencies to implement preferential policies for people with meritorious services to the revolution such as: nursing to restore health; preferential regimes in education, training, loans for production, tax exemption and reduction; support to raise living standards, improve housing…

Celebrating the 75th anniversary of Invalids and Martyrs’ Day, the Provincial People’s Committee has issued a plan to organize practical and meaningful activities. From the province to the districts, the city has organized a number of activities such as: bringing people with meritorious services and martyrs’ relatives to visit ancient battlefields in the central provinces, visiting historical sites in Hanoi capital; organizing campaigning and supporting the ” Repaying Gratitude” Fund; organizing delegations to visit and give gifts to patients’ families in districts and cities; organizing activities to praise typical people with meritorious services and praise individuals and collectives for doing well in the work of “repay gratitude” at all levels; lighting candles to pay tribute to heroes and martyrs at martyr cemeteries throughout the province.

Speaking at the conference, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee affirmed: The achievements of the Vietnamese revolution in general, and of Lang Son province in particular, were originated, nurtured from the blood and bones, efforts and wisdom of the previous generations, class of heroes, martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, people with meritorious services with the revolution. Generations today and in the future are always proud and vow to live worthy of the sacrifices of the previous generations.

In order to better implement preferential policies for people with meritorious services to the revolution in the coming time, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee proposed: Party committees, administrations, branches, mass organizations and the whole society need to be more active and drastic in concreting with specific programs, plans and jobs to organize effective implementation of the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies towards people with meritorious services.

He believed that the revolutionary elders, Vietnamese Heroic Mother, wounded and sick soldiers, family members of people with meritorious services will continue to promote the revolutionary tradition, the family tradition of always being at the forefront of all local movements and continue to make greater contributions to the cause of national building and defense in general and Lang Son province in particular.

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of war invalids and martyrs’ day, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to 19 people with meritorious services of the province; 14 collectives and 6 individuals who have many outstanding achievements in the ” Repay Gratitude” movement.

During the program, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee presented gifts to 75 typical people with meritorious services. On this occasion, Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam Lang Son Branch and the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Lang Son province presented 75 gifts with a total value of 67.5 million VND to 75 typical people with meritorious services in the province.
