Summarizing the 2020-2021 school year, implementing the 2021-2022 school year tasks

– On the afternoon of August 20, the Department of Education and Training held an online conference to summarize the 2020-2021 school year and implement the tasks of the new school year 2021-2022.

Attending the conference at the site of the province were Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Nong Luong Chan, Member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province; Mr. Dinh Huu Hoc, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; leaders and staff of specialized divisions of the Department of Education and Training.

Despite being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the efforts and high responsibility of the officers, teachers and staff, the Education and Training sector of Lang Son province has comprehensively completed the tasks of the 2020-2021 school year.

In particular, this is the first year of implementing the new general education program for grade 1, therefore, the Department of Education and Training has focused a lot of resources to effectively implement it. Through the implementation, the management officers and teachers basically meet the requirements of teaching grade 1 for the selected and applied books in the whole province.

At the end of the school year, the rate of 1st graders who successfully completed the Vietnamese subject was 64.97% (up 14.57% compared to the school year 2019 – 2020); the rate of students successfully completing Math is 69.6% (up 9.6% compared to the school year 2019-2020).

Along with that, the organization of exams and contests has been carried out in accordance with regulations, ensuring seriousness, safety, efficiency, and schedule; The rate of high school graduation in 2021 in Lang Son province was higher than the previous year, reaching 97.8% (0.71% higher than 2020).

Based on the achieved results, the Department of Education and Training set out a number of key tasks for the new school year 2021-2022 such as continuing to advise the Provincial People’s Council to issue the “Project on investment in building facilities and teaching equipment for public preschools and schools in Lang Son province in the period of 2021 – 2025” and implementing, completing the plan of 2021; continuing to prepare well the conditions for the implementation of the general education textbook program of 2018; reviewing the planning and arrangement of schools and classes; paying attention to developing teachers and educational administrators; promoting the application of information technology in teaching and learning…

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested: “In the school year 2021-2022, the provincial education sector needs to continue to focus on implementing synchronously and effectively the resolutions and action plans of Party congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term; to promote the emulation of “Innovation and creativity in management, teaching and learning” in association with the promotion of learning and following the thought, morality and style of President Ho Chi Minh; to strengthen communication on the policy of renovating education and training, renewing general education curricula and textbooks, creating consensus among the people; to take appropriate solutions to implement Decision 861/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, Decision 433/QD-UBDT of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs; to ensure security, safety and food hygiene in schools; to continue to strictly implement the prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic and diversify forms of response to ensure teaching and learning.

Mr.  Duong Xuan Huyen, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee awards certificates of merit from the Provincial People’s Committee to students with outstanding achievements in the 2020-2021 school year.

At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to building and fostering teachers and educational administrators; to review and arrange appropriate, lean and efficient the network of schools and classes.

On this occasion, 8 teachers were awarded the title of Excellent Teacher; 1 unit was awarded the emulation flag and 1 individual was awarded the certificate of merit from the Prime Minister. At the same time, 3 units were awarded emulation flags by the Provincial People’s Committee, 21 collectives were awarded the title of excellent labor unit by the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; 19 units, 150 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; 5 individuals were awarded the title of Provincial Emulation Soldier by the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee. At the same time, 11 teachers with high-achieving students and 14 students with good results in the national exam for excellent students in the 2020-2021 school year were rewarded; 27 students were awarded certificates of merit by the Director of the Provincial Department of Education and Training.
