Especially, as of 3:00 pm on July 28, 2021, Lang Son continued to record 5 more cases of COVID-19 related to 2 previous cases of COVID-19. Specifically, 1 case was the assistant of a long-distance driver at Huu Nghi International Border Gate Parking lot, Cao Loc district, who contracted COVID-19 on July 26, 2021; 4 cases of COVID-19 in zone 2, Tan Thanh commune, Van Lang district are the F1 case of the COVID-19 case announced on July 27, 2021, who were foreigners staying in the above area.

The Board of Directors considers that the risk of the disease spreading in the community is very high because the new type of SARS-CoV-2 has the high risk of spreading quickly and has a long incubation period; many COVID-19 cases were recorded from long-distance truck drivers transporting goods from epidemic areas to border gates in the area; still recorded new cases related to the number of workers from Bac Giang province returning to their localities. However, many people underestimate the dangers of the pandemic and do not fully follow epidemic prevention and control rules.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee emphasized that the pandemic is very complicated. Therefore,  pandemic prevention and control rules and measures must always be performed seriously, absolutely not to be negligent.

The governments of districts and city should observe the actual situation of their localities to take appropriate measures to prevent and control the pandemic. The relevant units and agencies should continue to maintain serious and effective inter-sectoral checkpoints at the gateways to the province; strengthen measures to prevent and control pandemic at border gate areas; arrange shelters for specialized drivers and long-distance drivers participating in import and export at the border gates.

Regarding the prevention and control of epidemics at the border gate, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested: From July 30, 2021, the Department of Health will organize random Realtime RT-PCR testing of 20% of people at car parks at border gates in the area and in some high-risk areas in Lang Son city, communes of Cao Loc and Van Lang districts by the method of pooling samples; continue to improve the capacity of large-scale testing and accelerate the progress of vaccination against COVID-19.

At the same time, the forces need to urgently trace, localize, quickly isolate and effectively stamp out the outbreak in Tan Thanh commune, Van Lang district, contributing to preventing the disease from spreading in the community.
