Department of Health held an online meeting on strengthening screening measures and management for people from the epidemic area returning to the locality

– On the afternoon of June 14, the Department of Health held an online meeting to strengthen screening measures and managing people returning from epidemic areas to locality in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.

Attending the meeting were leaders of the Department of Health, leaders of specialized divisions of the Department of Health, and representatives of leaders of medical centers in 10 locations in the area.

According to the report of the Department of Health, from June 10, 2021 to the morning of June 14, 2021, Lang Son welcomed 1,318 Lang Son citizens from Bac Giang epidemic area who wishes to return to the locality and many cases that have returned by motorbike. In which, there were 2 cases, after performing screening tests, 2 positive cases were detected (1 case of F1 in Huu Lung district has completed public quarantine in Bac Giang; 1 case in Bac Son district returned from the lockdown area in Bac Giang).

In addition, from June 1, 2021 to the morning of June 14, 2021, Lang Son has received 163 cases of F0 who have recovered in other provinces and returned to the locality (4 cases in the districts of Loc Binh, Van Lang, Bac Son, Chi Lang were re-positive). Therefore, the Health Department assessed the risk of Covid-19 epidemic arising and spreading in the community from the above cases as very high.

At the meeting, the units had many ideas and suggestions to improve the effectiveness of epidemic prevention activities in the coming time such as strengthening the advisory role of the heads of health stations in communes and towns in epidemic prevention and control in public quarantine areas, reducing the density of hospital beds in public quarantine areas; improving testing capacity…

Concluding the meeting, leaders of the Department of Health required medical units to advise properly, timely, and positively to Covid-19 epidemic prevention steering committee at district and commune levels in the classification of cases from the Bac Giang epidemic area returning to the locality; urgently report to the district level committee for a plan to handle and overcome the situation of citizens returning from epidemic areas by motorbike; organize tracing, localizing, testing, treatment according to the motto “4 on spot”; closely coordinate with local authorities in monitoring and supervising quarantine cases at home.

To minimize the risk of Covid-19 that might arise from the case of citizens returning from Bac Giang epidemic area, the leaders of the Department of Health request all cured F0 cases returning home to do self-quarantine at home for 14 days and take samples for testing twice. If they were re-positive, they would be quarantined at a district or city health center for 7 days and take samples for Realtime RT-PCR test 1 time/day. In particular, it is recommended that all units, if they ensure adequate facilities and human resources, they will perform public quaranine for F0 cases.

All F1 cases returning from epidemic areas must be quarantined in a public quarantine area for 7 days; F2 cases who have completed quarantine in epidemic areas when returning the locality will implement a 7-day quarantine at home; In case of citizens in the lockdown and quarantine areas without a certificate of completion of quarantine and the Covid-19 test report is negative 3 times, they will go to medical quarantine for 21 days (from the date of return to the local) and be sampled for SARS-CoV-2 test at least 3 times, After completing public quarantine, they will continue to quanrantine at home for 7 days.
