Preparations for the Peach Blossom Festival in Lang Son – Spring 2023

With the theme “Wonderful Lang Son – Colorful Border Province”, the opening ceremony of the Peach Blossom Festival in Lang Son – Spring 2023 will take place at 8pm on January 15, 2023 at Mailand Hoang Dong Urban Area (Lang Son city).  Up to this point, the preparations for the festival are being urgently implemented,  ready for a grand and impressive opening ceremony that promises to become an attractive event for the People and tourists.

The Peach Blossom Festival in Lang Son – Spring 2023 is held on a provincial scale from January 15, 2023 to February 19, 2023 (ie, from December 24 in the year of the Tiger to January 29 in the year of the Cat). Mr. Nguyen Phuc Ha, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said:  From 2018 to now, Lang Son Peach Blossom Festival has been held with appropriate content and scale, attracting a large number of tourists inside and outside the province, becoming a typical highlight, an important cultural activity of the Lang Son very Lunar New Year and spring.  On the basis of reviewing the shortcomings and limitations of previous festivals, we have agreed on the plan and advised the Organizing Committee of the Peach Blossom Festival in Lang  Son – Spring 2023 to develop a plan, assign specific tasks and tasks to each member. At the same time, we chaired and coordinated to hold many important contents, regularly review activities, report to the Head of the Organizing Committee on the progress of the implementation and the preparation of the festival.

Unlike previous years, this year’s festival will have more innovations. Specifically, the scale and venue of the organization were expanded. In addition to the area of spring flower road at Chi Lang Park (Chi Lang ward), this year, the opening ceremony and most of the activities within the framework of the festival are held at Mailand Hoang Dong urban area (Hoang Dong commune, Lang Son city). Up to this point, the construction units have been rushing to complete the stage area, the peach blossom space with more than 1,500 peach trees (an increase of more than 1,000 trees compared to 2019) of many different peach varieties such as: purple peach blossom, pink peach blossom, white peach blossom. .. In particular, these peach trees are being decorated with eye-catching lighting systems, lanterns and wind chimes so that people and visitors can admire and record the best images here.

Regarding the preparation of peach blossom trees, From the beginning of December 2022, owners of 15 peach blossom garden (with nearly 50 beautiful peach blossom trees) in districts and city participated in the Beautiful Peach Blossom garden contest, and Beautiful Peach Blossom Tree in Lang Son’s Spring has focused on fertilizing, cutting roots, covering the roots, rooting, and stimulating the growth of peach blossom trees.  Up to now, the contest jury has graded the peach blossom gardens and participated in the award ceremony taking place on the opening night of the festival. Mr. Le Van Dung, Hong Phong 1 village, Chien Thang commune, Bac Son district said: My family currently owns more than 300 peach blossom trees, mainly pink peach blossom and forest peach blossom varieties. This year, my family participated in the beautiful peach blossom garden contest organized by the province for the first time. In order for the peach blossom tree to bloom beautifully, my family took care of it, pruned it, and regularly monitored the weather to adjust how to care for the peach blossom tree to bloom the most beautiful on the occasion of the festival, serving tourists to visit and experience.

Along with the peach blossom space, the Wonderful Lang Son Business Fair with nearly 50 booths has been completed. In addition, a peach blossom painting contest was also launched in districts and city to select the best paintings to display at the opening ceremony of the festival. Mrs. Hoang Thi Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of Loc Binh District People’s Committee said: After receiving the direction plan of the Provincial People’s Committee on the organization of Peach Blossom Festival this year, the District People’s Committee developed a plan and propagated it to agencies, units of communes, towns and people. The district’s beautiful peach blossom painting contest attracted more than 3,000 works, of which 250 were selected for the preliminary round and 15 were selected for the provincial competition. In particular, during the opening of the festival, the district also built a display booth with OCOP products such as: sweet potatoes and Mau Son forest lemons, fresh and dried pho noodles…

In addition, during these days, A number of central and local press agencies and related units are rushing to complete the construction of the maquette, display publications, press products, and pictures and tourist maps for introduction and promotion about the land, the people, tourism, and cultural heritage of the Lang Son…

With the initiative of all levels and sectors, it is believed that the Peach Blossom Festival in Lang Son – Spring 2023 will take place successfully and become an attractive event for people and tourists during the 2023 Lunar New Year.
