32 Lang Son medical staff volunteered to go to Ho Chi Minh City to help fight against COVID-19

– On the afternoon of July 26, at Lang Son Medical College, the Department of Health held a meeting and assigned tasks to the delegation of volunteer medical staff of Lang Son province including 32 medical staff to set out to support Ho Chi Minh City against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and Mr. Nong Luong Chan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province and leaders of the Department of Health.

Facing the complicated pandemic situation in Ho Chi Minh City and  southern provinces, the Department of Health has decided to establish a delegation to support pandemic prevention in Ho Chi Minh City, including 32 medical staff (10 doctors, 20 nurses, 2 technicians).

These are elite medical staffs who are working at hospitals, district and city health centers in the area volunteered to support the fight against the pandemic.

All medical staffs participating in the delegation are vaccinated with 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccine; have negative Realtime RT-PCR test results and have been fully trained in the treatment of COVID-19 patients and infection control to prevent cross-infection among healthcare workers .

According to the Department of Health, the medical sector  had 77 volunteers registered to support for pandemic prevention in Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces. Participating in this support, there are 32 medical staff led by Doctor Dang Huy Du, Deputy Director of the Provincial General Hospital, who will participate in the treatment of COVID-19 for cases with moderate and severe symptoms on the 3rd level of the 5-level COVID-19 patient treatment system in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the meeting and assigning tasks, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee appreciated and praised the volunteer spirit of the “white shirt soldiers” who set out to support Ho Chi Minh City and other southern provinces in pandemic prevention and control.

He wished that the medical staff of Lang Son province go on a mission with  good health, stay safe, keep strength and always make efforts, try to complete the mission with the highest morale and responsibility.
