Meeting to discuss the implementation of the digital border gate platform

– On January 11, the Provincial People’s Committee held a meeting to implement the digital border gate platform of Lang Son province. Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee chaired the meeting.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Mai Xuan Thanh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Customs, leaders of departments, commissions, sectors and armed forces of the province and a number of businesses at Huu Nghi International Border Gate and Tan Thanh Border Gate.

Implementing Plan No. 150/KH-UBND dated July 2, 2021 of the Provincial People’s Committee on pilot implementation of total and comprehensive digital transformation at Huu Nghi International Border Gate and Tan Thanh Border Gate, from July 2021, the Department of Information and Communications has conducted a survey, selected options, technology solutions and selected units to install and connect smart camera systems, connect registering database, test functions, review and evaluate information security, open training sessions for agencies and units to use.

At the same time, the department has completed the installation of 4 AI cameras at Huu Nghi International Border Gate connected to the digital border gate platform; connect 4 traffic cameras along National Highway 1A from Huu Lung district to the border gate area; tested the functions of the digital border gate platform on the mobile applications, on the website; checked and evaluated information security; organize propaganda, training, and user manuals for border guards, tax, customs, quarantine forces, the Management Board Of Dong Dang – Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone, logistics businesses and businesses participating in import and export; completed the inter-connection of the customs database; installed PC and tablets for forces on duty at the border gate; piloted the actual use of the digital border gate platform at Huu Nghi International Border Gate…

Up to now, the digital border gate platform has met the requirements of serving the management of customs, border guards and functional forces, import and export and logistic businesses and customs agents. The digital border gate platform will reduce time and effort for functional forces and businesses working at border gates, limiting congestion while waiting for data entry.

At the meeting, representatives of the provincial agencies, commissions, sectors raised their opinions on the difficulties in the process of using the digital border gate platform, the operating principles of the digital border gate platform, the operation regulation and process of each force operating at the border gate…

Speaking at the meeting, the representative of the General Department of Customs highly appreciated the values ​​brought by the digital border gate platform being piloted and expected the functional units of Lang Son province to further discuss about reducing overlapping procedures, bringing real values ​​to businesses, especially in terms of time, security for businesses, expanding automation processes, simplifying procedures for quarantine, customs border guards. He recommended to install more electronic scales, identification cameras and electronic barriers…

Concluding the meeting, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee emphasized: “Lang Son province will continue to review and complete the processes in the construction of digital border gates in the coming time. The Department of Information and Communications should focus on reviewing and editing to complete the digital border gate platform before January 15; other relevant forces should continue encourage their officers on duty at the border gate and businesses to understand, comply with the implementation of digital border gate, improving its effectiveness.
