The leader of the Provincial People’s Committee surveys the processing area of black jelly in Trang Dinh

– On August 3, the delegation of the Provincial People’s Committee led by Mr. Luong Trong Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, inspected some black jelly growing areas and some processing facilities; surveyed rural traffic route Khuoi Vai, De Tham commune – Pan Dao, Keo Veng, Kim Dong commune, Trang Dinh district.

According to the report of the People’s Committee of Trang Dinh district, by mid-2021, the whole district has 5,469 households growing jelly tree in 21 communes, with an area of ​​1,868 hectares, equivalent to 74.7% of the plan (to plant 2,500 hectares), the output is estimated at 10.3 thousand tons.

Regarding the issuance of planting area codes, specialized agencies of the district have completed the application to the Sub-Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection for granting 104 codes in 15 communes with an area of ​​more than 505 hectares; completed dossier for issuance of codes for packing establishments to 58 households and cooperative enterprises. Up to now, the competent authority has issued 101 planting area codes with an area of ​​​​more than 453 hectares and issued packing codes to 4 businesses in the area.

Currently, the processing and consumption of black jelly products receive considerable attention from the district, in addition to domestic consumption, some enterprises have processed jelly in the form of powder for export to markets such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, China and Malaysia with an estimated daily output of 4 tons.

At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Industry and Trade requested the District People’s Committee to urgently locate the planting area, to propagate and mobilize households and cooperatives that have been granted planting area codes to plant according to their commitments to ensure product quality; to pay attention to building Trang Dinh black jelly product brand in association with implementing the program of one commune one product in order to improve the value of black jelly in the market.

Regarding the rural road of Khuoi Vai, De Tham commune – Pan Dao, Keo Veng, Kim Dong commune, this has been a project approved by the Provincial People’s Committee since 2014 with a length of 8.8 km but the project was paused from 2016. In 2021, the Provincial People’s Committee continues to record capital for implementation, however, in order to promote investment efficiency, the People’s Committee of Trang Dinh District has proposed to the province to allow the district to add 3.6 km into the project to connect national highway 3B with provincial road 226.

Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee stated: “Trang Dinh is a district with great potential to turn black jelly tree into a high-quality agricultural product of the province. The development of the black jelly tree in the district is very encouraging.”

In order to develop black jelly tree with stability and sustainability in the coming time, he suggested that Trang Dinh district urgently locate key planting areas, promote propaganda, continue to expand planting areas and strictly implement safe production process; coordinate to speed up the granting of planting area codes; attract enterprises to participate in processing; search, expand the consumption market… In addition, the District People’s Committee should cooperate with other sectors to study and preserve the variety of black jelly tree, thereby building seed gardens to serve the development of black jelly tree in a sustainable manner.

For the rural road project in Khuoi Vai, De Tham commune – Pan Dao, Keo Veng Kim Dong commune, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee agreed with the proposal to adjust the project and assigned the Department of Transport and Trang Dinh District People’s Committee to complete the dossier and submitted it to the Provincial People’s Committee for approval and implementation in the period of 2021-2023.
