The leader of the Provincial People’s Committee inspected the situation of collective economic development in Cao Loc district

– On August 5, the delegation of the Provincial People’s Committee led by Mrs. Doan Thu Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee inspected the situation of collective and cooperative economic development in Cao Loc district.

According to the report at the inspection, in the first six months of 2021, six new cooperatives have been established in Cao Loc district, bringing the total number of cooperatives in the district to 38 cooperatives, of which there are 35 active cooperatives and three cooperatives are temporarily suspended. The number of cooperatives operating well in the district accounts for 28.57%; the number of cooperatives with average operation accounts for 23.8% and the number of weak cooperatives accounts for 47.62%. In addition, at present, there are seven cooperative groups operating in the district.

Regarding the implementation of policies to support cooperatives, in the first six months of 2021, the District People’s Committee has compiled and registered documents to support cooperatives with some contents related to brand development, loan interest support, supporting young intellectuals to work in cooperatives and so on.

At the inspection, representatives of some provincial departments and agencies, leaders of Cao Loc District People’s Committee and the district’s specialized divisions, committees, representatives of cooperatives in the district spent a lot of time evaluating and clarifying some contents related to difficulties and obstacles in collective, cooperative economic development in the district. At the same time, they proposed solutions to gradually improve the operational efficiency of the collective economy, including cooperatives in the district.

Concluding the inspection, the Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested that the District People’s Committee, Cao Loc District Steering Committee for renewing, developing and improving the efficiency of the collective economy continue to innovate methods and forms of propaganda to raise awareness of the collective, cooperative economy; focus on directing the planning of concentrated commodity production areas, specialized farming areas, development of traditional craft villages, closely linking the renovation and collective economic development with new-style rural construction, industrial promotion, agricultural extension, brand promotion, etc. in the direction of linking to create a closed value chain; promote land allocation, land lease and grant of land use right certificates for cooperatives to build infrastructure and facilitate access to loans at credit institutions; strengthening training and fostering knowledge and skills for officers and employees in cooperatives and so forth.

Cooperatives need to continue to strengthen their organizational structure and develop members in terms of both quality and quantity; be more proactive in studying mechanisms and policies to select production and business models associated with the district’s potentials and advantages; further improve management skills, create links in development to improve operational efficiency, contribute to increasing income, improving the lives of members and employees and so on.
