Creating favorable conditions for people to consume custard apple, associated with COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control

– On August 10, the delegation of the Provincial People’s Committee  led by Mr. Luong Trong Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee inspected and surveyed the production and consumption of custard apple in the districts of Chi Lang and Huu Lung.

In Chi Lang district, in 2021, the area of ​​custard apple in the district is about 2,000 hectares, the area for harvesting is over 1,800 hectares, the output is estimated at over 18,000 tons (including all the crops); the area planted under VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards in the whole district is over 613 hectares, the remaining area is produced in a safe direction.

As for Huu Lung district, the area of ​​ custard apple in 2021 in the district is about 1,650 ha, of which the harvested area is 1,450 ha, the productivity is estimated at 84 quintals/ha, the output is estimated at 12,180 tons; the production area according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards is over 300 hectares. By the end of August 8, 2021, the output of custard apple harvested in the district is over 2,300 tons.

The consumption of custard apple in the two districts is quite favorable. Besides selling to traders, some households have advertised and sold custard apple on social networks as well as on e-commerce platforms including voso.vn, postmart.vn…

During the working schedule, the delegation visited a number of models of custard apple production and consumption in Yen Vuong and Yen Son communes of Huu Lung district and inspected the ​​markets, cooperatives and business households of custard apple in Chi Lang town and Dong Mo town of Chi Lang district. At the inspected locations, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee inquired about the production as well as the consumption of custard apple. He asked the People’s Committees of Chi Lang and Huu Lung districts to coordinate with related agencies to continue creating the most favorable conditions for people to sell custard apple, as well as to pay special attention to implementing preventive measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.
