Lang Son solemnly celebrated the 110th birthday of comrade Luong Van Tri

(LSO) – On August 17, the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province solemnly celebrated the 110th birthday of comrade Luong Van Tri (August 17, 1910 – August 17, 2020).

Attending the celebration were Mrs. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Hoang Van Nghiem, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; key leaders of the province through terms; revolutionary seniors, heroes of the people’s armed forces; leaders of Provincial People’s Council, People’s Committee, Fatherland Front Committee; Provincial Delegation of National Assembly; leaders of provincial departments, branches, unions, armed forces; leaders of Van Quan district, Tran Ninh commune and relatives of comrade Luong Van Tri.

The celebration was opened with an art program with the theme: “A forever lasting name”, depicting the life of comrade Luong Van Tri from his teenage period to his time of revolutionary activities, revolutionary movement  in defence of the country; as well as the unique traditional culture of Xu Lang people.

At the celebration, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee delivered a speech reviewing the revolutionary activities of comrade Luong Van Tri – a faithful communist soldier, an excellent son of Lang Son homeland.

Comrade Luong Van Tri, Tay ethnic, was born on August 17, 1910 into a Tay peasant family, with the tradition of patriotism and fondness for study in Ban Hoc village, My Liet commune, My Liet district, Van Uyen area (now  Ban Heo village, Tran Ninh commune, Van Quan district, Lang Son province).

During hi s13 years of revolutionary activities, side by side with comrade Hoang Van Thu and Hoang Dinh Giong, comrade Luong Van Tri made many positive contributions to the construction and development of Party Committees of provinces including Lang Son, Cao Bang and Thai Nguyen. He spent his youth fighting, wholeheartedly devoted his whole life to the career of national liberation and noble communist ideals, the country and the people.

The life of the revolutionary activities in fighting steadfastly, maintaining the temperament and the noble sacrifice of comrade Luong Van Tri has left valuable lessons. Staying proud and promoting the hometown’s traditions, Lang Son province has constantly strived to grow and develop.

Up to now, the province has made important achievements in all fields, the people’s material and spiritual life has been increasingly improved and enhanced; national defense – security is guaranteed; Party organization and political system are constantly being strengthened and improved to meet the further requirements and tasks in the new situation.

With these outstanding achievements, Lang Son Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups have been awarded many noble titles and awards: Golden Star Medal, Ho Chi Minh Medal, Independence Medal, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces. The province has 10 districts and city, 32 communes and towns, 9 units and 26 individuals in the province were awarded the title of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces.

The speech of the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee affirmed that the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Lang Son province will strive to unite, continue to promote the power of the entire political system, determine to successfully implement resolutions of the party congress at all levels, to be worthy of the sacrifices of the previous generations, with the good traditions of the homeland, to be worthy of the belief, noble titles and rewards awarded by Party and State.

At the celebration, on behalf of the youth of the whole province, the Secretary of Lang Son Provincial Youth Union reported on the emulation results of the youth of the whole province to celebrate the 110th birthday of comrade Luong Van Tri. At the same time, he affirmed that the young generation of the whole province continues to reflect comrade Luong Van Tri in choosing the ideal of living, constantly training and studying to contribute to building Lang Son homeland to become increasingly properous.

At the ceremony, being authorized by the State President, Mrs. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee awarded the Second Class Labor Medal to the Party Committee, government and people of Van Quan district that have outstanding achievements in their work from 2015 to 2019, contributing to the career of building socialism and defending the country.
