35 works won the 1st Lang Son Provincial Press Award in 2021

– On the morning of June 19, at the Hall of the Party Committee and the People’s Committee of Lang Son city, the Provincial People’s Committee held the 1st Lang Son province Press Award in 2021 and met to celebrate the 96th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 – June 21, 2021).

Attending were Mr. Hoang Van Nghiem, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mrs. Doan Thi Hau, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, Chairman of Provincial Council of Press Award; Members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; the leaders of departments, commissions, sectors and armed forces of the province; People’s Committees, Culture, Sports and Communication Centers of districts and city; the representatives of the press agencies of the province and the central government in Lang Son; authors and groups of authors as winners, together with a large number of members, journalists and reporters from local press agencies.

After a timely preparation, on September 16, 2020, the Provincial Council of Press Award held the launching ceremony of the 1st Provincial Press Award in 2021. Press and media agencies have promoted propaganda, built planning, assigned tasks, motivated reporters and collaborators to actively create journalistic works and send them to participate in the Award. By February 28, 2021, the Provincial Journalists Association (standing agency) had received 108 works by authors and groups of authors in all 5 types and categories of journalism, including print newspapers, video newspapers, radio newspapers, electronic newspapers and newspapers photos. The works participating in the Award all meet the conditions and criteria, the content is rich and comprehensive in such fields as economy, politics, security and national defense; Covid-19 prevention and control…

In the opening speech, Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Council of Press Award affirmed that in 2021, the first year of organizing the provincial press award, it had attracted the attention, participation of reporters, collaborators of central and local press agencies. However, the quality of the works submitted for the competition is different from each other and there wasn’t any works that reflected complex and thorny issues in social life… Hopefully in the future, with knowledge, passion, enthusiasm and affection for the land and people of Xu Land, reporters and collaborators of press agencies inside and outside the province would bring excellent works to the Lang Son Provincial Press Award.

At the program, the Organizing Committee awarded the 1st Lang Son Provincial Press Award in 2021 for 35 works of 19 authors and 16 groups of authors in 5 categories of prizes, including 8 works with B prize, 14 works with C prize and 13 works with encouraging prize.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Hoang Van Nghiem, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council acknowledged and praised the achievements that the press in general and Lang Son press in particular have achieved in the past few year; he also congratulated to the authors and groups of authors who won the first Provincial Press Award. In order to well perform the heavy but very glorious task of the revolutionary press in the coming time, he suggested the press agencies, journalists and related officials should continue to uphold the good tradition of the revolutionary press and its achievements; perform better, more accurately and timely the detection and strong criticism of bureaucracy, corruption, wastefulness, negativity and social evils; strengthen political and ideological education, raise the qualifications, skills and moral qualities of journalists…

On this occasion, the Provincial Council of Press Award launched the 2^nd Lang Son Provincial Press Award in 2022.
